Can So. Cal win the Pac 12 this year?

It’s usually not as hot up here as it is extremely humid, but the last couple days have been warm. Shrugs I sit inside in 65 degree AC unless I need to go out, so no problem, lol.

Yeah. I’ve never been a Michigan fan (I mean, EVER, go Spartie) but I can quietly support what they’re doing. Hoke has some good things going for him. Good swagger and attitude, and like you said I like that shifty and aggressive defense he’s putting out there. Could be fun to watch. Gotta say I’m still rooting for the B1G in this order: Nebraska, MSU, Wiscosnin… and whoever else at that point. I’m an SEC fanboy.

…that being said. I didn’t get to actually watch the game itself because I don’t get ESPNU, but from the clips and highlights I saw it seems that Brantley is going to be fitting into Muschamp’s pro-style offense very well this year. Expect Florida to be a serious sleeper in the East.

I would just like to re-cap something, by the way. The 4 predictions I made this weekend were:

1.) Baylor over TCU (CHECK)
2.) BCS team losing to bad team (CHECK, OREGON STATE)
3.) Boise State winning (looking likely, CHECK)
4.) LSU winning (CHECK?.. maybe a little too soon, lol)

Bow down!

Easy now. It’s opening day, and at least the defenses looked okay. I expect BYU to finish in the top 25 probably. I do think they’d be a good fit for the Big 12. Although I think Super Conferences would be much better for the game, personally.

Sorry dude but Ole Miss is absolute shit and BYU is just as bad.

Auburn looked terrible today but they are going to curb stomp Ole Miss.

Yeah, Ole Miss isn’t particularly great (especially this year) but it is what it is. I’m just saying it’s easy to be a harsh critic. There were only 3 total turnovers in the game, which points to good D. So I (personally) think a one-week glimpse of a team is a little too early to declare someone “absolute shit” or not.

I thought they’re in eligible.

God… so fucking jealous.
I’m thinking I need to keep taking classes for the next twenty or so years so I can keep getting student tickets. I paid 105 dollars this year, and I get to go to every home game. Last three years it was 70. SEVENTY FUCKING DOLLARS TO GO TO EVERY GAME IN THE SWAMP.

Do not want to graduate.

I think that would be wishful thinking. With Stanford being as strong as they are, and Oregon always competing, I don’t know about that. They are not bowl eligible. But the first half of today’s game was pretty impressive.

The idea of the Pac-16 is an idea being floated around, with Texas and Oklahoma being added…

Will the big 12 survive another 12 months? Will A&M get their asses sued?

Not the second half though lol. I was getting annoyed at the play calling in te second half. Run the damn ball every once in a while.

SC could win (could as in they are not banned from winning it) the PAC 12 this year but that isn’t going to happen. This is just another rebuilding year, getting the young guys experience and then making a run to the first ever PAC 12 championship game next year

Okay, yeah I was asking if they are allowed rather than able.

Why did I think they would have a championship game this year?

Dude… they threw the ball 47 times I think they said! WTF is that, seriously?

Personally, I thnk LSU is way over ranked, especially with the suspensions and turmoil that is facing that squad. I’ll take the Ducks by 10.
The SEC once again proved that the teams in their conference are simply on another level. Even with all the distractions and suspensions, LSU was far superior against the Ducks.

Lesson learned on my end. Tip of my cap to that conference, simply the creme of the crop.

Having said that ^^^, what do people think about Boise State’s win over Georgia? I think that’s a very quality win for them. Even though Georgia is rebuilding, they’re still a great SEC team.

Eh. I’m not so sure Georgia will be a 500 team this year, even in the SEC East. Their youth is talented but the juniors and seniors aren’t particularly great. I’m not too impressed with them (theoretically) currently, but anything can happen.

Semi off-topic, but I don’t know how many times Kellen Clemens will need to prove people wrong before he starts getting LEGITIMATE respect.

I think the O-Line is young and new, I would assume they threw the ball more because Barkley is experienced and they have a couple receivers who are good. Who knows, I would have ran the ball more if I was making the calls.

I thought there was a PAC 12 Championship game this year, and USC was not allowed to play in it as part of their sanctions (that’s what the announcers said during the game yesterday at least). So while they “could” win their division, they can’t actually be PAC 12 champs, since the PAC 12 champ is the winner of the PAC 12 championship game.

This was my understanding as well.

Good for Boise State, but Georgia is not a great team. They were mediocre last year and I expect much of the same this year. That being said, even if Georgia doesn’t lose another game, how many wins will Boise State have against quality opponents?

Exactly one. They can obviously compete against good teams, they’ve demonstrated that over the years. What they have not, and will not demonstrate while they continue to play in joke conferences, is that they can do it consistently. One game doesn’t mean much of anything. Did anybody think App State deserved BCS Championship consideration after they beat Michigan a few years ago? If Boise State played and beat 4-6 nationally ranked teams every year, and ran the table, I’d believe they were legit.
