I’m betting there are multiple teams that have not given up 40 points to anyone. Its not like I’m saying you have to have a stellar defense. I’m just saying you can’t totally suck at it either.

The following Teams in the AP Top 25 listed by ranks that have not given up 40 points this season.

LSU
ALAbama
Arkansas
Virginia Tech
Boise St.
Michigan State
Wisconsin
Michigan
Penn St.
Notre Dame
Virginia
Georgia Tech

Its not like keeping all of your opponents under 40 is some Herculean feat. It’s just having a defense that doesn’t totally blow.

Wow. A&M.finally blows at a team and look at all the chaos that occurs to bring balance to the force.

Anybody else find it a bit funny that while LSU and Alabama seem to be the best two teams around it happens when the SEC is not the strongest conference this season. (keep.reading its the Big 12, where any team-except Kansas, though they did cause trouble for Baylor, can beat any other team). I find it a bit humorous.[/quote]

Actually that’s next year that the addition of TCU finally propels the Big 12 above the SEC

Condolences to Razorback Nation on your loss.

We’ll this weeks BCS standings didn’t do Stanford any favors…

#6? Come on now.

Who do people WANT to see in the title game? Right now, I think I’d lean towards a LSU/Alabama rematch. Yes the first one was hardly entertaining, but I think it could be different the second time around.

I want to see the two best teams. I’m not sure we know for certain who they are just yet. I lean toward LSU/Bama but there are games yet that could convince me otherwise.

Hehehe… I got a little bored. All original except the last.

The SEC is so good, the NFL thought about giving the conference champion a spot in the Super Bowl, causing the 2011 NFL Lockout.

The SEC is so good, you don’t even need to win your division to go to the national championship.

The SEC is so renowned, European football teams wanted to be a part of it until they found out it was a different sport.

The SEC is so good, head coaches at other top programs want to be the new assistants at Missouri and Texas A&M.

The SEC is so dominant, non-conference teams count losses of 2 touchdowns or less as wins in their records.

The SEC is so good, every game is like a national championship game.

The SEC is so unstoppable, EF5 tornadoes failed to slow them down.

The SEC is so brutal, the NCAA is creating a new “Death Penalty” - a 5 year schedule of SEC teams only.

The SEC is so physical, other teams are seeking a new “Post-SEC Game Bye Week Rule” to deal with injuries.

The SEC is so punishing, teams lose on purpose to not play them in the National Championship.

The SEC is so good, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade couldn’t get tickets and instead had to settle with Oregon vs. USC.

The SEC is so good, people thought it meant Surely Everyone’s Cheating.

Boom.

Also, why isn’t Virginia Tech being at least talked about? Yeah they lost by 20 to Clemson but we’ve been talking about teams with kind of bad losses most of the season.

Because the ACC is terrible, even if they finish 1loss there’s no way they garner the same respect as a 1loss SEC, Big12, or Pac-12 school(although after this past weekend there can now only be OKState and Stanford from the 2 latter).

I’d agree with that but Oklahoma gave up 41 at home to a rancid TT team and yet we still talked about them until the second loss. VT’s loss was to Clemson and you’ve got to believe Clemson is way better than TT. So yeah we give Oklahoma a bit of a pass for being in the Big 12 but it shouldn’t be that much.

The Big 10 is a whole new ball of wax now too with the addition of Nebraska.

-Nebraska lost to Wisconsin, Michigan and Northwestern, but beat Ohio State and Penn State.
-Wisconsin lost (in the final seconds) to Michigan State and Ohio State but whipped Nebraska
-Ohio State beat Wisconsin but lost to Purdue along with Penn State and Nebraska
-Michigan State wins over Wisconsin but loses to Nebraska.
-Penn State wins over Ohio State but loses to Nebraska.
-Michigan wins over Nebraska but loses to Michigan State and Iowa

The clear leaders are Michigan State and Penn State at this point.

Michigan state has the legends division sealed up, but this leaders division is coming down to the dang wire. Thankfully, Wisconsin plays Penn State this week to settle that score.

I’m used to the Big 10 coming down to one game, Michigan-Ohio State. Winner of that game typically won the Big 10, then off to the Rose Bowl or (more recently) a big BCS game.

This year, the whole conference beat each other up all season long. From what I listed here, the rankings would go

Michigan State
Penn State
Wisconsin (best team with two losses)
Michigan
Nebraska with three losses
Ohio State with three losses
Iowa with four losses
Northwestern with 5 losses (yet with a chance to beat Michigan State?!?!)
Illinois with 5 losses
Purdue with 6 losses (yet spoiled Ohio States’ run)
Minnesota with only 2 wins
Indiana, who is just god awful with 1 win

Never had teams like Northwestern or Perdue been the clear spoilers like they were this year and damned if Nebraska didn’t throw a gigantic monkey wrench in the whole proceedings. 10 out of the 12 teams have the chance to play in bowl games going into the last week of the season. Unheard of!

Who am I rooting for this week with the Wisconsin-Penn State matchup? Wisconsin. The Big 10 Championship game on December 3rd will be a motherfucking bloodbath. Rematch that will rival any sort of LSU-Alabama game.

Long story short, the Big 10 is much more fun.

Go Blue, Buck the Fuckeyes.

Michigan St. is the same paper tiger they were last year.

Early in the season I would have agreed with you, especially after that mishmosh loss to Notre Dame.

But after seeing them eek out a win over the Buckeyes, then win over Michigan with dominating defense, then again over Wisconsin in the last seconds, it seems to me that MSU has a an extra gear this season.

Lol, it reminds me of the whole argument we used to hear from the SEC, that everyone is so good that they beat each other up during conference play. The Big Ten is like that, except everyone is similarly mediocre and beat each other up.

I agree the Big Ten is fun from the standpoint of competition and trying to sort out clear winners. We just have to put National Championship thoughts out of our heads and enjoy the ride.

Michigan beat the fuck out of Nebraska. I think most people were expecting a nail-biter. I thought Nebraska might be a little tired, but I also didn’t expect Denard Robinson to be so sharp at this point in the season. Brady Hoke is definitely the right coach for that team. Nebraska better learn some discipline and consistency, or Pelini will never win a championship, or even the division, if Hoke keeps things rolling.

I for one am praying, like biting my lower lip style praying, for a whole slew of SEC-Big 10 matchups in the bowl season.

Then for the Big 10 to have a winning record over the SEC.

As for Nebraska.

Dude Nebraska felt the weight of Penn State almost as much as Penn State did. Having to go into Happy Valley after that whole mess and play a game? Having one of your assistants gather everyone up on the 50 for a fireside chat?

While basically the whole world was watching?

I can understand why the Huskers came out flat in the first half.

But that damn triple option they ran in the 4th for a touchdown was genius, had everyone scratching their heads. What I’m most excited about is how Nebraska has to recruit and scheme moving forward. We’re going to see big fullbacks and tight ends and linebackers (maybe even recruit some away from Ohio State? tee-hee!) as well as linemen. Sorry Big-12, if I were a 280 Offensive Lineman living somewhere in Oklahoma or Texas or Kansas I’d be high tailing it to a conference where my visibility is greatest, and that’s the run-based offense of the Big-10.

Yessir.

I hope the Husker Nation is excited about the conference move, knowing that the competion is fierce and there is a lot on the line. I know that I am. I give Nebraska a ton of props for playing the way they have this year in a new conference. You can’t really say that Utah or Colorado (especially Colorado) has stirred up half as much shit in the Pac-12 during their first year in conference.

Since we’re on the big10 topic, this is the first year in awhile that I am really worried about the Michigan matchup. Our offense is just so bad this year, it’s too much to ask a defense to stay on the field so much, and it’s been killing us in a bunch of games, no reason it would be any different in Ann Arbor vs shoeless.

I was really hoping Posey would have a crazy big game when he FINALLY got back on the field this season on Saturday vs Penn State, but it was wishful thinking given our QB play. The void Pryor left just wasn’t ready to be filled this season =/
