Coconut Oil Everyday?

I don’t know what brand mine is but I get if from Sprouts. It’s EVCO and it’s unrefined. Cost is like $15 for a 32oz jar? It goes on sale every so often and I’ll pick up a couple tubs.

It is in the solid form and i like that because it’s easy to get out a measuring spoon scoop out exactly how much I want.

I love this stuff. It’s very good to cook with (meat, eggs, veggies, anything) and makes my chocolate shakes extra tasty.

I use the “Garden of Life” brand, which can be found on the VS site. I don’t bother to refrigerate since I go through it pretty quickly… plus, I hate scraping it out with a plastic measuring spoon so I prefer it to stay liquid.

I try to get 3 tbsp per day, though I’d definitely go higher if I could afford it. Delicious stuff.
The 54oz Nutiva is the cheapest.

500 ml for cold pressed organic virgin coconut oil for 2$. just some of the few perks being in the philippines.

I cook with coconut oil and also found them in a gelcap. I take em like fish oil with my fish oil lol

yes, Spectrum makes a spray version
what are they using to keep it liquified?
Bull sperm… honestly I don’t recall. And, my gut tells me it’s not the best to consume much of it daily in this way.
Actually now that I think of it. Its probably MCT oil not regular coconut oil. Since MCT is liquid at room temperature they could get away with adding this to a spray can. Normal Coconut oil is always going to be solid at room temperature, but the more MCTs the oil has the more liquid it will become. Probably not a big deal but it means the spray version is missing one of the fatty acids of normal coconut oil. Which one I couldnt tell you.

Anyone have any thoughts on extra-virgin vs just regular? Walmart says a non-extra-virgin kind for 7 bucks a tub or so.
Most MCT’s stay intact during refinement but it does lose smell (taste) and some nutrients IIRC.

That’s about all I can find on the subject. I don’t want the taste or smell, and it’s not hydrogenated, so I guess I’ll at least finish the jar I bought.

I bought coconut milk once. Said it had more than 60% MCTs. Can’t remember the exact number. But coconut milk is incredibly strong in taste. I don’t really like coconut taste. I can handle EVCO’s taste. It’s not that strong. But it took me like a month to finish a half gallon of coconut milk.

Coconut milk is deelish
