I have been experiencing some problems with my tricep and chest training because of my ulna nerves in my elbows keep shifting and moving kind of like a constant funny bone. It usually happens with any kind of pressing movement and this has prevented me from going heavy on certain exercises. I have been to an ART practitioner and a few sessions relieved the problem for a while but it keeps coming back. Any suggestions on how this problem can be fixed? I don’t want to lose my tricep and chest development because of this.
Don’t mess around with this and get it checked out ASAP, I can tell you from personal experience. Back in '97 I noticed a small bump on the inside of my arm at the elbow joint. It turned out that I had actually pulled the ulnar nerve out of its “tunnel” it runs through the elbow joint in. This was either from lifting weights or playing a lot of golf which I was doing at the time.
I had to go to an orthopedic surgeon for an operation. They had to detach some forearm muscles from the elbow joint, move the nerve into a safer place and then sew the muscles back over the top of the nerve. It basically means I don’t have a “funny bone” on my left arm now as the nerve is protected under the muscle. My arm was in a cast for 3 weeks and I was out of weights for a few months as the muscle had to repair. It didn’t take long to get back into the swing of things once I was able to train again.
The surgeon said that if I had left the nerve where it was there was a good chance that it could have been damaged by anything impacting the arm or lifting weights etc, not to mention it was affecting my performance in the gym and at other sports, so in light of that the 6 months or so of rehab where not so bad, especially at age 21 with a long way to go with my life!
So get it checked out, don’t delay!
Cheers,
Ben
Any other help by anyone on this subject would be wonderful. I want to prevent any kind of surgery.

I understand your concern but you don’t want to end up losing all feeling in your forearms do you? Nerves aren’t meant to “move around”, please get it checked out by your doctor, the longer you leave it the more chance will exist of causing permanent damage. It may not need surgery but you don’t want an “I told you so” episode happening with this injury!
Thanks bg100, I really appreciate your advice. I will definitley get checked. Hopefully Charles Staley or Charles Poliquin see this and give me their thoughts on what else I could do. If there are any other T-Members out there who have experienced this like bg100 and I have, please tell me how you delt with it.
