Just a what if scenario.
If the bouncer had called him out on the drugs, done the same thing and the guy actually HAD drugs and this resulted in the alleged drug dealer’s arrest, would the bouncer still be an idiot?
If when he didn’t find anything on the guy he said, “my mistake, you sir are a gentlemen and a scholar, good day to you,” he would not have been an idiot.
However, when he didn’t find anything, he punched the guy in the head several times and made him worship him, on film… That is the part that makes him an idiot.
Bullshit, he had no legal authority to search him. He can tell him to leave the property, or possibly hold him for the police, anything beyond that is a crime.

He thinks the guy is selling drugs in a club that he is a direct employee of, he takes him in back and asks him to empty his pockets, the victim willingly empties his pockets, nothing is found. Everything up that point is just fine legally. When he starts looking through they guys wallet and phone without asking permission things start to get a little hairy.
At this point had he of said “alright now get the fuck out,” nothing would have happened to the bouncer, the victim would have been shaken up but unharmed. He probably would never go to that club again and everything would have been fine.
When he begins hitting him and locks the door when he tries to leave, that is when things start to get really fucked up.
You don’t have to call the police every single time you think something might be wrong, that is what bouncers/security are for. Had he called the police on this guy on the suspicion he might be selling drugs the police would just be pissed they had to waste their time searching this guy, especially when he was willing to empty his pockets for the bouncer right there.
If some guy that has a hundred pounds on you tells you to empty your pockets and you do it because you are scared as shit, it is called unarmed robbery. Doesn’t matter what he THOUGHT the guy did, he has no authority to search him.
No shit you don’t call the cops for every little thing. Suspicion of drug dealing is not a little thing. He is not a cop, he has no right to search him, regardless of what he thinks might be going on.

I think my original question got misinterpreted a little.
I’m not talking legally.
I meant it along the lines of “if someone killed a pedophile, most people would call him a hero” and was wondering if he had in fact been selling drugs if people would hold this in the same light, but as orion pointed out, most likely not
