Clicking/Popping Joints on TRT?

Hi all,

I took a microdose of Arimidex over 2 weeks ago in a very small dose (0.25mg) and I still have clicking popping joints like crazy, shouldn’t my E2 have recovered? I also feel very weighed down/tired. I’m taking DHEA, HCG and a good amount of T. Could this be my thyroid or something else? My TSH is over the range at 6.1, but my free T3, T4 are normal range so the doc told me not to worry about it. I also feel more “down” than usual, and very low motivation which is a newer symptom. I’ve looked into taking a reverse t3 test, but I cant really afford it atm.

Really difficult to make a guess without labs. Ive had my rt3 in the low 20’s with tsh, ft4, ft3 in optimal ranges but because my rt3 was so high, it resulted in crushing fatigue and depression. You may need a new Dr from the sound of it. Clicking joints sometimes indicate low e2 and your e2 may not have recovered yet.

Man, i’m really struggling with finding a good doctor and i’ve spent too much money already. I cant afford to keep paying, and I dont want to ask my family for help as they’ve helped me pay a lot of my medical bills already. Would it be crazy if I just took thyroid medication to treat my high TSH, or will that complicate things even further?

If you crashed it, it can take a long time. up to 3 weeks to feel normal before for me.

Not to change the subject but that seems to be where i’m at, good thyroid labs but reverse t3 is low 20s and have those similar symptoms, how did you handle that situation?

Rt3 is a tricky bitch. Its essentially our bodys brake. When in any state of stress for too long, our body will begin to divert conversion of t4 to rt3 instead of t3. This makes us feel hypothyroid even if tsh, ft4 and ft3 look optimal. The stressors can also be varied or compounding: loss of job, death of family member, divorce, insomnia, infection, surgery, injury, leaky gut, chronic inflammation, overtraining, caloric restriction for too long etc. The fastest solution is a t3 medication. A t4 medication wont help because the body will continue to convert t4 to rt3. The long term solution is more difficult and depends on identifying your primary triggers. Mine are compounding as an example. I have a tendency to overtrain, restrict my calories, have insomnia, a stressful job, a wife with 3 kids who are constantly bringing in sickness to the house and recently learned ive been dealing with tbi for the last 17 years.

RT3 can’t be pulled in ioslation, has to be taken with the big 5 Thyroid labs, below. RT3 should be under 15.

TSH
FT3
FT4
Anitbodies
Reverse T3

This doesn’t make sense to me. Arimidex has a 3.5 day half life. It is also NOT a suicidal aromatase inhibitor so it doesn’t kill off aromatase enzymes. Because of this you are more than likely going to have higher e2 rebound after you discontinue the ai. It turns into a roller coaster ride. Take to much you crash. Stop taking it due the crash and you suddenly go to high. This causes massive hormonal swings. There’s no way to feel right playing games like that. If your injecting testosterone than you should have conversion happening within 24 to 48 hours of your next injection. If he isnt feeling better two weeks after stopping the ai then something is wrong. He needs bloodwork. You can get the e2 sensitive test for 60 bucks and some change.

This is I think what happen to me, took the AI for the first time, almost crashed E2, skipped next AI and paid for it when E2 rebound. I think the rebound is what spiked my E2 too fast and spiked blood pressure.

My E2 is officially crashed however I don’t feel that bad, erections, libido are on vacation and joints all pop and click. I thought low E2 was worse, strangely chest is sore and a little warm and I’m thinking it has to do with testosterone.

Scored a sensitive E2 12 a week ago and didn’t get results till today, I increased AI from .125 to .250 EOD. Whoops!

Going to do .125 twice weekly. The half life of Arimidex is approximately 50 hours, that’s roughly two days. My concern is if I do AI twice weekly what am I going to do in the midpoint of the week when the AI is weakest?

Does Arimidex eventually reach a stable state like other medications? Blood pressure medicine to the rescue.
