Clean Form Check

I’ve been learning clean for two month, still can’t get the essence of it. I know my hip was not fully extended and my movement was not explosive at all, just don’t know how to fix it. Tried to achieve the “arch angel” as Jon North mentioned, never succeeded.

I appreciate that if you could give me some cues to improve my form.

The video has been edited for saving your time, no preps, just lifts.

You’re pulling around your knees rather than pushing with the legs and getting the knees back out of the way during the first pull. This is why you don’t really bump the bar against your thighs on the way up. Also, as you pointed out yourself, you don’t open the hips all the way or finish the extension.

Your gyms music is absolutely horrible

Thanks. Any drill to fix it? I realized that I just enhanced my bad form by doing it wrong again and again.

Sorry, I don’t get on here very often. Try and look up Don McCauley’s drill called “sweep the bar” on youtube. Do that over and over until you feel the bar moving towards you. Otherwise, it’s kind of hard to tell you over the internet.

Thanks. I understand it’s hard without face to face coaching. Just checked Don McCauley’s youtube videos, they are very helpful. Guess I’ll watch all of them!
