Those guys always had great thoughts to share. Maybe someday they’ll pop back in.
I enjoyed Pimpbot, i wonder what happened to him?
That dude should have been payed for his services. He was basically doing online coaching for free. His Yates inspired 3 way split was golden, among others programs like his 531 adaptation to boybuiling.
Was he Bricknice (or something like that)?
@darnell_becker @Dinsanity28
Thanks to anyone who liked what I said about out bodybuilding back then. However it reminds me of a time in my life (2003 to 2010) that I care not to think about much as it was filled with serious depression and misery. I made some horrible posts and went away from the forum for some time. I am seriously sorry for anyone I insulted in the past, and embarrassed.
I made one of my closest friends from this forum and have likely met or talked on the phone with about a dozen people from here.
So, as I said, I feel complimented, but I’d rather not get into that time of life or any bad things I did. So I’d prefer if no one brings up something embarrassing as I believe I’ve repented enough. I now have a home, children, wife, plenty of friends, etc. So Im actually a changed person.
If people benefited from some of my input, then good. And in case you or anyone hasn’t seen, I did one show and documented my prep here in 2016. Now I’m just a thinner, balding, middle-aged man with a Men’s Health look who does circuit training, kettlebells, and jogging. And I once thought I’d be “hardcore for life”. Yeah… sure.
Hey man, your input on BB was great and that is all I remember from you. I’m sorry that you went through some issues back then, I was never aware of anything like that.
I will not touch the subject anymore. Thank you for the knowledge anyway, I learned a lot from you and CC.
You’re welcome, and thanks. If you want to talk anything about Bodybuilding or nutrition. I’m into it. @darnell_becker
That’s cool man. Like you, I’m into circuit training at the moment. Mostly bodyweight stuff, I find it provides me a good mish mash of strenght and conditioning.
I don’t care about being big anymore (no one cares if I’m big anyway), I care about my longevity and being healthy (and so does my family).
If I understood correctly I thought @polo77j was still posting, just under a different username.
Yea … polo77j here … lost my old log in info so made this one … don’t really post much anymore … kids and new job with more responsibility and exposure have taken my focus
Wideguy.
“Swiping the pine” .
We invited Professor X to come to Colorado for a visit. He did some workouts with Thibaudeau, Dani, and either Jelena Abbou or Thib’s wife… I forget. We filmed everything, but I don’t think we ever used any of it (pre-Instagram days). Maybe it went onto the LiveSpill? I actually just spent an hour searching for the photos of the workouts. Must be on some forgotten hard drive somewhere, but we did use a couple of them as lead images in some older articles.
X was soft spoken in person. He also broke down and cried during one of the workouts. That’s not a slam; I might’ve cried too with those workouts. But he couldn’t hang with the girls when the workouts got a little metcon-y. Maybe it was the altitude. Maybe he was having some harsh realizations.
I wasn’t really posting when this thread started, but I just got around to reading the whole thing. Maaaan so many good ones. I’m pretty sure I recognize every single person that was mentioned! Makes me feel old, lol.
I’ve met quite a few members on here that go way back. I met basementgainz at the Arnold in, I think, 2018. The same year I met Chris Colucci, Stu, and Brick in New York when I was there for Strongman Nationals. I met Yogi on a trip to Scotland in I think 2017. Ct Rockula is still one of my favorites. I still communicate with him regularly, he actually posted on my Facebook wall a few days ago, lol. Csulli and Reed are also both still friends of mine, they live near each other. And yes, Csulli does yoga now. A lot. Reed still squats, just not as much as he used to. I still follow MarkKO and USMC as well. I’m sure there are others I’m forgetting.
Alpha (Brian Alsruhe) is obviously an amazing dude, I don’t watch his videos as much as I used to, but he’s still killing it.
Frank yang is… out there. But I like him. He’s a weird dude, but he’s still doing his thing. Much less weight-training stuff, more philosophy.
Meganewb (George Leeman) is a goddamn psycho. He’s a terrible person. I’ll leave it at that.
Guys I learned from and looked up to back in the day: Zraw, Waylander, Prof X, Gregron, maraudermeat, holymac, bonez, and MrWalkaway, to name a few. Some really awesome dudes with a lot of knowledge and experience.
Anyway, fun walk down memory lane, love this thread!!
I just had a re-read through it too
I’m surprised RogueVampire didn’t get much love.
He had this place on tenterhooks for months. There were folk actively hunting him to see if he really existed
He was writing a book and claimed he would speak to a female vampire who existed centuries ago.
His avatar was mental as well. He had the most insane traps
I’m sure there was a video of him pushing a prowler and almost having an asthma attack
In fact, I think those videos shattered the myth of X and he wasn’t seen in the same light afterwards
I enjoyed his presence for sure. He stimulated debate and knew how to get under folks skin.
His dietary advice though ![]()
Good find! I forgot that some of those old vids were stored on YouTube. Hope he’s doing well.
Me & him hung out a couple times. He lives not too far from me. And @ActivitiesGuy is just right over the hill. He gave me some weights to use to recover from some medical stuff.
Both very nice people. ![]()
@Tim_Patterson had mentioned some stuff like this in a conversation I’d had with him before MetCon for Muscle… I’d be humbled to be offered such an experience.
Would also probably cry/vomit during one of @Christian_Thibaudeau’s workouts. M4M was no joke.
I love this thread. So many memories…
