CLA

Hey everyone , never posted before, Just to let you know a little about myself I am 42 Yrs old 16% body fat about a year ago through this site I found Don Alessi In Buffalo I trained with him and most notably Justin Stang ( The guy you see in the pictures with the goatee and one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met ) They helped me come back from a 4 year layoff to take my bench from 185 to 260 squat from 200 to 320 and body fat down 8% In less than one year. I will always be eternally grateful) Anyway My question is, I would like to Start using CLA but have read that in some people it can actually exacerbate insulin resistance ( http://PubMed&list_uids=15159252&dopt=Abstract ) any thoughts. Also I would like to ask if anyone knows what Product CT used during his recent program.

jimieg, congratulations on your fabulous results!!!

It sounds like even though you’re sitting at 8% BF you’re wanting to cut up some more and are looking for a good partitioning agent. Honestly, I think you’d get better results with Red Bands than you would with CLA. I’ve used CLA on myself and never felt like it gave me a noticable bang for the buck.

Re CLA causing insulin resistence, results are preliminary. And more importantly, those studies were done on rodents (i.e., rats). In the study you’re referring to, the authors concluded with the statement that further investigation needed to be done re different CLA isomers and their effect on insulin resistence. As it stands, the trans-10,cis-12 isomers of CLA may aggravate insulin resistence, and the cis-9, trans-11 isomers may help insulin resistence.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
