CINNAMON and INSULIN

I have read 1 teaspoon of cinnamon is a grea tglucose disposal agenmt. Anyone here use it and if so how and when do you take it?

thats tru. you can read moreabout research at life enhancement. They have a product insulife, but its insanely expensive, I prefer just to take a teaspoon on cinnamon along with insulene and 300 mg of ala threeminutes before a high carb meal (such as a postworkout drink for example).

I’ve used cinnamon for years ever since reading Bodyopus where duchaine suggested cinnamon as a powerful glucose disposal agent to be used in place of metformin. I use a teaspoon of cinnamon along with 300 mg ALA in my high glycemic post WO shake or any time eating a big carbup meal. There has been some discussion and debate on the forum recently regarding whether cinnamon increases insulin sensitivity of fat cells preferentially over muscle cells but my opinion is that it just functions similiar to ALA and glucosol (which I’ve also used and is in insulene) and increases insulin sensitivity in general and the body will utilize muscle cells over fat cells for glycogen storage if possible. (which should not be a problem for athletes). There’s a company now which is making a cinnamon extract supplement which they are marketing as similiar to (or better) glucosol. Anyway, the suggested dose is 1 teaspoon and I’ve had good luck using it.

What is a glucose disposal agent? What does it have to do with Insulin? Can someone explain it a little more clear? I thought an insulin spike was good after a work out.
