I was wondering how long before that made it here!!
It’s been coming a while by the looks of things.
must. see. chucks. 1170lb 4" below parallel video…
Sounds like a great guy, cant wait to see him back up on his lifts.
and only 3 responses so far
This is a shame, but it happens. Folks who lift big weights have big egos and a bigger need to trust the folks around them. Somehow things shattered up there in Columbus.
Watching Chuck lift at the WPO left a huge impression on me.
Some people repeat to themselves, " I am Tiger Woods". On Circa Max squat days i would mutter “i am chuck V” and remember his face taking that weight out, then do another set. His picture should be next to the word “Intensity” in the dictionary. Like LS’s should be next to “Icon”.
A sad day.
I just watched his youtube vids and they are very inspirational.

I’m suprised this topic hasn’t popped up sooner. Apparently T-Nation isn’t the place to get the latest powerlifting gossip. :)[/quote]
Haha, well all powerlifting gossip…important or not, seems to find its way to powerliftingwatch first.
Jack, did you wear a flame beanie too? That would add to the effect.
But in all seriousness I can’t see this doing any bad for Chucks career, its not like hes retiring just moving on. I’ve already heard rumors of him joining another gym close by, one with lots of respected talent and potential in its on right. I’ve never lifted as WSB but have heard stories about how two faced Louie can be, I have no doubts that this has contributed to the increased amounts of big names leaving lately.

He did indeed join another local gym. And the gym is, in my um…totally 100% unbiased opinion, awesome.
Everybody moves on sooner or later. Chuck will be back soon enough, I’m sure.

Chuck will be back, and I would imagine he’ll be out for Panora when he gets back on the platform.

I hear hes training at Lexen Xtreme gym in Ohio, but buckeye you can probably confirm that or prove me wrong. I may be stronger then you but your alot prettier then me.
That’s where he is.
lol. Thanks.
Powerlifting gossip is gay, however it’s been a lot less gay here than on the website that was linked.
BTW, I know Louie and chuck both. Sometimes people change gyms for a variety of reasons. I got pissed at a local gym owner 9 years ago and haven’t set foot in his gym since . I’m going to soon for a change of pace.
Argument aside, I was a guy that owned all the equipment I needed myself, so irritating me was counterproductive.
Hi Guys
I’ve been lucky enough to train at westside all be it only for a couple of weeks and a couple of years ago I sat next to Chuck and his family for several hours at the Arnold Classic.
Every time I’ve seen or spoken to Louie and Chuck they’ve both been very friendly and humble; never have I felt or seen any egos.
If they’ve fallen out then I’m sad to hear that but it doesn’t reflect my experience hearing that Louie is this or Chuck is that; in fact Louie is one of the most generous and kind people I’ve ever met. When I was there a young English strongman just turned up unannounced; not only did Louie help him but he housed and fed him as well for 12 weeks!
What a guy!
Chris
