Hey bushy,
From what I’ve been told about stretching (specifically PNF) is that the GTO is likely to be responsible for relaxation of muscle in stretching - the loading of the stretch causes the relaxation of muscle via the GTO.
This seems to be a pretty basic explanation to me and I don’t think I have anywhere near the knowledge of physiology that you do at the moment, so without some specific idea on the mechanism of action these substances have, I can’t really discuss this on an intellectual level, I’m afraid.
