I don’t even know where to begin with that statement

This book was written by an atheist set out to disprove the bible and ended up becoming a christian. One more thing for me it is about a relationship with Jesus not a religion. As cliche as that sounds it is true. When you experience God on a personal level you know that you have faith in the right God. Not to mention the fact I would rather live my life believing in God and it turn out to be not true. Than living my life believing in nothing and there turns out to be a God.
Or even worse, live my life believing there is no God, and turn out to be correct.

edit: forgot the smiley. =0)

The only religion I even remotely can relate to is Satanism. Go figure.

Didn’t anyone teach y’all to not bring up religion in polite company…Oh wait, is this polite company?!

Well ask yourself this, who made the two stars to collide into each other? It doesnt make sence not to believe.

LMAO! HAHAHAHA. Yes, evolution is ridiculous and Santa is real too.

You’re either very ignorant or just intellectually challenged if you can’t tell the difference between a fictional piece of writing and fact.

Evolution as it pertains to the creation of man is not a fact. It is a theory.

Then so is gravity, electromagnetism and aerodynamics.
Maybe I am completely reading this wrong, sorry in advance if I am, but there is a big difference between gravity and evolution. Gravity is a LAW where as evolution is a THEORY. There is no such thing as a Law of Evolution.

Not how it works. Did you do science in school?

I don’t believe in “religion.”

I believe in a relationship with God/Jesus Christ. And yes, I do consider myself a Christian.

I even have a blog based on my beliefs and how it ties into health and fitness:

Actually technically gravity is not a law. It has been disproved.

Also on an interesting note according to the “laws” of aerodynamics’s bumblebees can’t fly.

A lot of classic “laws” are in truth theories, though at worst good approximations.

We can’t see what you’re doing with that girl in your avatar, but if you’re touching her inappropriately YOU ARE GOING TO HELL!

This appears to be a classic evangelical bait-and-switch, and the unbelieving commenters all see right through it (that picture of the Flander’s kids couldn’t be more appropriate). LOL. Rather than come in here brand new like an elephant in a china shop, you’re better off building rapport with everyone else here first, just like you would form a relationship in real life with another person. Then you can share/defend you’re faith.

For the record, I am a Christian also. I just find this approach to be insincere and sort of crazy.

To me it’s funny that the only people I ever hear say that are non-Christians. Maybe I go to the one church in the US that doesn’t do the fire and brimstone thing, and maybe I hang out with the one group of Christians that don’t go around condemning people to hell. Which is funny because I’m born and raised in the Bible belt.

Its also funny to me that the people that seem to complain so much about getting religion shoved down their throats are the ones that will do anything in their power to detract from or make fun of others beliefs.

I agree. They are who I call the fearful and the weak.

I thought it was a basic tenant of Christianity that Jesus would one day return to save only his followers from eternal damnation in the apocalypse?

Kind of rude when you think about it. I mean if you’re omniscient and all… Why not help a buddha out???

Yes, I believe in human reason.

That requires a lot of faith.

lol. Funny.

I mock religion because it makes no sense what so ever.

But those who get defensive when you call people on the BS of it, they are the ones that get uncomfortable and angry/defensive
You lack faith my son. Just pick any religion and have complete faith in it. It’s quite liberating not having to think. Don’t try and make sense of the jiberish, just recite it. If you do this long enough you will put yourself in a euphoric trance and will be able to better enjoy this life before being reunited with your god.

Either that or just smoke a bunch of weed. Same thing.

There is no such thing as a law anymore because people found out that there can be no such thing as a scientific law after they had named quite a few theories “laws”.

Therefore saying “it is just a theory” is completely ignoring that in order to get promoted from hypothesis to theory an idea has to survive countless attempts to take it down.

A “theory” is the closest thing to “true” a scientific explanation can be.

Every belief (or conviction, or conclusion, or what have you) is founded upon a kind of faith. Scientists call them axioms.

Interesting. I actually find religion interesting and read as much as I can. The problem is the more I read the more it sounds like a fairytale and the more baffled I become by people that actually base their lives and beliefs on the shit. It is quite interesting but quite puzzling at the same time.
