I have noticed a definite burst of strength gains for you O. Superb
I JUST LOVE PUSH PRESSES! I have however pushed one up over my head …and it continued to fly behind me into the “deadlift rack” at 24 fitness. The most noise, most confusing, and impressive fail I’ve ever had. I was fine with it since ti was technically a pr, just extra mileage in it.

I just mentioned in my journal’s post for today that I have a very ad hoc set up for squats. How much does a basic cage like yours cost? I almost buggered up my back today.

I paid $400 for my cage and texas power bar. I bought them used from a guy up north. The plates I paid $100 for 700lbs. I bought them from a fellow east of Toronto that I met on TN. I’ve added over time with a better bench, more plates and a second bar plus Olympic dumb bells. In total, we’ve probably spent $1,500 including stall mats and plywood for the floor.
It was definately worth it. We still like to go to a commercial gym from time to time but having your own spot is great.
Squat
bar-10
135-5
165-3
195-2
210-5x3
210-6
All of the 210 were rep prs of a sort since I didn’t use a belt. Actually I’ve never done 210 for more than 3 with a belt. Of course I was wearing my creatine filled black dress socks.
MP
bar-5
65-3
80-6x3
Bench
bar-10
95-3
102.5-5x3
102.5-6
These felt ridiculously sucky and hard after the squatting and pressing
dips-10
only one set because my right elbow and shoulder started bitchingt
kennelly’s
10-2x20
Pikes
3x15
Overall this was a very satisfactory work out. I haven’t had my belt on since we put our suit bottoms on to squat several weeks ago. I’m happy with that.

QUESTION: Are you using creatine? Just curious.
I tried that a while ago and I swear it did nothing.
Anyway, good job on them squats!
You know, I don’t know if it really does that much for me but I am taking it. I think the weight gain as a result of water retention is what may be doing it for me.
I also think I’ve found a training groove that is working well for me so I’m going to ride it while I can. I think I either wasn’t training enough frequency before and when I did, I went too heavy in gear and fried my cns. That’s why I’m mostly staying raw for the time being.
I’m also taking a lot of glutamine for recovery and that seems to make a difference. btw, my weight this am was 136.5
Today was a lot of running around and shopping. Yesterday the stereo was stolen out of my car so I had to replace it today. Boooo. Piss me off.
Because it’s March break we went on a long walk to Websters Falls with my daughter. It was a lot of stairs
Front squat
bar-5
115, 135, 140, 142.5, 145, 147.5, 150 all for 5
152.5-4 1 more rep than last week. Next week it’ll be for 5 and I’ll move on to 155.
I’m still leaning heavily to the left. I posted the video because I switched over the trying straps instead of a clean grip. I’ve been having issues with my right wrist and elbow that seems to be exacerbated by front squats. The straps work really well.

It might be the camera angle but the bar didn’t look even when it was sitting in the catches and that might have led to you lifting it off unevenly.
I does look uneven even at the start of the video before you press play. Maybe BB is the one that off to one side. However, I did a screen capture coming up. My hips and torso look even but the bar is waaay tilted.
