Chins: Back or Bi Exercise

Chins don’t do much for my biceps. They did when I was a begginer. If you really want to develop your biceps stick with curls.

she’s some pole vaulter who happens to be totally hot. If you search around I bet you can find her name but I’m too tired now :(.

I don’t think that if you’re doing them with “proper” form that they do much for the biceps either. But, as several others have mentioned, it depends on whether you’re a naturally biceps dominant puller, or back dominant puller.

I do them as a back exercise personally, though I can make them arm dominant if I choose to. If I were to make them a biceps dominant exercise though, then I’d have to do a different exercise to sufficiently work my back. Which if you ask me, sort of defeats the purpose.

Like Hagar said, if I want to overload my biceps, then why not use an exercise specifically designed to do just that, curls. By this I mean that while chins can work the biceps to a degree, they’re (in my opinion) far from the most effective or efficient exercise to do so.

Good training,

If you feel like you can use it as a bicep exericse, my guess would be you aren’t doing it correctly.[/quote]

No way.Palms in and hands narrow hits the bis hard. And im pretty sure ive read that on here more than once.

I keep it even with me I basically superset them starting with wide grip over hand pull ups first and doing close grip underhand after.

I feel the underhand is to easy if I dont tire it first, that way I feel like I am getting a good work out on both exercises.
