I went back through my logs since I have been back post surgery and found that I had done 3 cycles of zerchers, snatch grip DL and CGBP and it was in the following cycle of conv dl, squats and BP that all my lifts moved up…so its basically what I am doing now and I will switch back 6 weeks prior to the Aug meet and see if they bump up ( or recover in the case of BP) again.

Sounds like a solid plan OG. One of the best things about logging online as opposed to in writing which I did for over 20 years, much quicker and easier to go back and look and compare training.

What Dave said, Paul. Great to be able to go back and see what made progress.

Are you setting any specific goals for the push/pull? Or just gonna go blast it?

Skip- No goals yet, when I get into meet prep which is only going to be the last 6 weeks…then I’ll see where I am at. After last meets embarrassment, I’m taking the approach that I am going to enjoy lifting and be thankful I can…of course before the meet I will become that over analyzing, out thinking, maniacal dope…

Heck, I get that way over a regular workout. You should have been in my head before I got to the gym last night. On second thought, it’s best that you weren’t. What goes on in my head would drive most folks insane.

Three words!? Cool! I can barely get that out of my 10 year old. Since all of my kids claim they are never going to move out, though, I might be the one moving.

I’m the same way about meets. Vow to just “enjoy the experience,” but then fall prey to my internal intensity and competitiveness and high expectations when the time comes.
