He’s wrong by thinking the girlfriend erased his account for good reasons. That man is spending his money and his personal time on that game. She has no right to delete any of it. If she wanted his attention, she should handle it in an adult way.

I’d also like to add, some of todays video games can easily be compared to reading a good book or watching a brilliant movie (WoW is obviously not one of them). With all the voice acting, intricate game plot that often have multiple possible different story archs depending on your decisions in the game, etc.
What you old grumpy people might consider an absolute waste of time and exclusively assosiocate with socially awkward 17 year olds sitting alone in their bedroom playing games because they have nothing better to do, has actually over the 3 last decades grown into a part of our culture.

Just for the record, Wol… I never said I hated vid games. In fact, I previously stated that I had played them in the past. I’ve spent many hours with my young son playing Marathon.

Just for the record, Wol… I never said I hated vid games. In fact, I previously stated that I had played them in the past. I’ve spent many hours with my young son playing Marathon.

I’ve already given my views on the thread’s topic. I made my points without attacking anyone here. With the limited information given in the vid, I proposed an opposing viewpoint to the majority on this thread. Sue me. If that young man valued his work so much, he was surely immature for destroying his own hardware. That action alone is what cinched it for me.
If he displays that degree of irrationality to the situation, I’d imagine he’s not a very rational person and most likely can’t handle a mature relationship. The gf stated he plays that game ALL THE TIME. She also displayed extreme immaturity by doing what she did, but it’s easy to see her reaction was the result of her own frustration with his inattentiveness to the relationship. My issue is not with video games, nor those who play them. My issue is with obsessive behavior/addiction that often takes a toll on relationships.

After reading this thread, I just have one question. Why do people hate world of warcraft so much?
Honest question here. I mean it seems like a pretty generic game. It’s really popular too. It’s a very social game and from what I’ve played of it, the graphics/gameplay/artistry is decent. But I must be missing something. I mean I see people bash this game constantly. Is it the long hours that are ‘required’ to progress in this game? Is it the nature of the game? The lore? The world it’s set in?
I dunno… someone enlighten me. I guess you either love it or hate it.
