A while back I was having all sorts of twinges and aches in my left chest, nothing severe though. I persuaded the cardiologist to do a stress test and he found nothing. Two weeks later my chiropractor noticed my shoulder was rolled forward and said my left pec minor was all cramped up. So I went and got a deep tissue massage on my chest, and all the aches and pains went away. Apparently the massage broke free all those adhesions and maybe even freed up an impinged nerve.
So, the moral is that if the stress test doesn’t show a problem you might consider soft tissue therapy like a massage.
yea, my doc was obviously of no help to me whasoever. i explained to her (in the same way I explained in this forum) what i was feeling…she did an EKG (which came out normal)…sent me for an MRI (to “rule out muscle causes”)…this also came out normal…so she ruled me perfectly fine and healthy…i still have the same problem today, and although it hasn’t gotten worse (thank god) it still pops up every once in a while. That can’t be right and there must be a problem. Unfortunately, now i have to CONVINCE her somehow that I need this stress test. The test seems like the logical thing to do, since i experience the symptoms under stress. I think im gonna consider switching docs just bc i don’t wanna see her stupid face giving me a blank, disbeleiving stare when i tell her i need a stress test.
I agree with fitone. Another opinion wouldn’t hurt. These days it sometimes happens that you have to look after your own health and tell the docs what to look for.
