Cheetah's Gym in Brighton?

Just moved to the area and wondered whether any of the T-Nation faithful train here?

Wow, that many! No wonder I can’t get onto the machines!

I wanted to go there, but then I decided on Orangoutan’s gym instead, just south of Brighton.

EDIT: I just remembered, I am nowhere near Scotland. Sorry about that.

Don’t apologise mate. I have just moved to Brighton but am loathe to remove ‘Scotland’ from my profile location. I think Cheetahs is pretty good, and reasonably priced for the south east - 70 quid for 3 years membership. I haven’t joined as yet though in case there is somewhere better. Would you recommend Orangoutan’s? What’s it like?

£70 for 3 years?

I’d put up with a lot of shit in a gym as long as they had the right equipment, for that price.

Sorry mon ami, I doubt there really is an Orangoutan’s gym.
I just wrote the first thing that came to my mind when I read “Cheetah’s gym”. I live in France in a town named Compiegne, and right dow by the Oise river.
I remember there being a “monster gym” somewhere in England, massive place and easily the best equipped gym I have ever trained in. I was struck dumb by the sheer number of Hammer Strength machines and other equipment.

Here’s the link and I hope you find one close to where you live, because this is where I WOULD train if I still lived in the area

Monster gym looks orgasmic.

I think one of the guys here trains up there, I’d love to give it a visit sometime.

Bit random seeing this post. I’m moving to Brighton and have checked out Cheetahs - it seems alright, bit grimey, no locks for the barbells (don’t know if this is unusual?).

I thought I might also have a look at Powerhouse gym in Lancing when I get the chance.

I have just committed to a 3-month membership. I am quite happy with that because at 70 quid you can’t complain. I don’t really like the set-up, which includes rooms dedicated to specific bodypart training - chest, legs, back, and arms. The latter is the only room which contains DBs. So, for example, if you want to use a rack in the legs room and have access to DBs for a certain movement you are screwed! This may be more of an issue for circuits, or full-body routines, etc. I get around this by using complexes for fat loss, so it’s not a huge issue.
That said, the place is old school and the machines (not that I really use that many) are plentiful. As stated earlier, I would have preferred a few less machines and more free weights in all rooms.
And despite it’s old school image, it still attracts the odd attractive female (brave souls)!

Wow, that was confusing. For the entire length of the thread I thought you guys were talking about the crazy hot Icelandic chick.

Fuckn’ A. That’s the same reason why I clicked on this.
