Did tomorrow’s training tonite. Tomorrow is the Iowa State Fair Bench & Deadlift. 22nd Street Barbell is helping again. We have @ 20 lifters lifting and I will be judging.

Beau Moore is an inspiration to watch lift and he’s so consistent and strong. I found him to be very friendly and always in a good mood at the meets we lifted at. I bet Mr. Moore will be doing well over 800 lbs on the dead soon in competition. I think I watched him pull 825 or 826 I can’t recall.

Agree in the absolute. Known Beau for a few decades, and have much respect for the spiritual and physical representations lived by this individual. Google the “Beau Moore Classic” and a plethora of web sites will appear. This annual event is usually held every March. I always donate a few boxes of the Biotest “FINiBARS” for each day of the event, as evidenced by visiting the warm-up room.

Got a late start today. Yesterday’s State Fair event was held outdoors on a covered stage. There were 169 lifters between bench and deadlift, 7 bench flights and 5 DL flights. Had 2 platforms going for both. Rules meeting @ 8:30a. They were lifting at 9:30. Finished last DL @ 4p. We had to be out by 5p because a band was playing last night and had to set up. Helped on the platform and rotated in on bench judging. Sat in a chair the last 2-3 hours and judged DL. Back tightened up nicely. Stayed up way too late eating, unwinding and watching rugby on TV.

I’ve completed in the Beau Moore Classic a couple times in Tampa. I stayed up until 2:30 last night watching DVR playback of the UFC fights on Fox1. Nobody appreciates the judges and loaders at meets enough but I always take time to thank them for their efforts. There is no pay and it’s all done out of the goodness and camaraderie you possess and share. Thanks for loving the game.

All the water I could drink and a t-shirt. I’d do it again tomorrow, not because I could use another meet t-shirt, but it’s a way to give back.

I always try to shake the hands of the judges after my 3rd attempts for the reasons you stated above.

things felt light tonite despite the fact that it was 100+ (and 60%+ humidity) today and we have a 16" oscillating fan. picked up a Little Ceasar’s on the way home. Post workout pizza is high on my list. Life is good.
