Old dog, new trick time. Starting to squat more narrow (shoulder width) instead of wide. Should get carryover in squat and DL.

Stayed lighter to get feel for it. Felt surpisingly natural for a new movement. Surprisingly easy to hit depth.

I moved narrower while running Smolov a while back. My hips just couldn’t take it. I also think its easier to hit depth a little narrower.

Great lifting, sweet gym. I’ve never used a monolift. A bucket list entry at last!

Had a nice week away visiting my wife’s side of the family in Southern Illinois. Got back in time to help out some members of 22nd St Barbell bring home a god awful amount of trophies from the Iowa State Fair Bench & Deadlift competition. Feeling like crap. No squats today.

I do have an interview on Wednesday.

sheiko week 3/day 1

Things got out of whack. This was to be Saturdays workout.
The narrow stance squats are feeling a little more comfortable. Depth isn’t an issue but I do feel “balled up” in the hole.

I’m always playing with my stance, its hard to get comfortable narrow, but its much easier on the hips.

Always wanted to tell you I like your log title, and I agree :slight_smile:

Squats - was to work up to 345 (2x2), 355 (2x2) and 365 (2x2). 325 felt like volkswagon on my back. Depth issues and twisting lower body. Lower back feels fried. Foam roll, band strech, mobility movements no help. Shut it down. Rest, ice, and tens unit in the interim.
