How do you guys do it? For example, Saturday or Sunday I usually have my cheat meal, but then there are times that it will seem unavoidable during the week. I will be a guest at dinner, and I don’t know how to turn down that creamy soup, piece of pie or scoop of ice-cream. It’s not like I go hog wild and ask for 2nd or 3rds, but the times that I have rejected either a meal or the dessert, I get made to feel like a Leper.
I usually give in so I don’t look like some sort of freak. After that, then I’m right back to my good nutritional habits.
How do you guys overcome it? Avoid social eating situations, accept it and don’t eat it?
Oh, I have no problem avoiding desserts/sweets/bad food choices on my own, it’s only when you’re offered in front of a bunch of people, and all eyes are on you.

i just tell people that my body produces too much insulin and i go hypoglycemic really easily… much easier to make up a medical reason for not eating like shit than to just say you choose not to eat shit for personal reasons

Are you fucking six? You control what goes in your pie-hole. Not those fucks. If they think you’re weird, then take out another cold chicken breast and eat it with your fingers.
Take your other chicken breast, shove it down their throat, then say “Don’t you know who the fuck I am?”
So basically your subject for this thread should read “I’m too big a pansy to actually eat what I want?”

I save my cheat meal for that occasion. If I’m in that situation I use the cheat meal then. If I am not in that situation all week, I will use my cheat meal on the weekend. There is no law that says cheat meals must be on Sunday… if you have one earlier in the week, then dont have one on the weekends. its not that complicated
Gouge out the eyes of the people looking at you problem solved.
Tell people:
1 - You are watching your weight.
2 - It is against your religion.
3 - Did everyone not know that (insert food here) causes impotence?
4 - Eating _____ is what the terrorists want us to do.
5 - Ghandi did not eat ________ so why should I?
the list goes on.
You can be polite and considerate while not eating food you do not want to eat. Cheat meals are a myth. There are strong choices and weak ones. Which one will you make today? Whichever one you make be prepared to share in the consequences and do not complain if you push yourself just a little farther away from your goals.

Hahaha
According to a late study by the New England Journal of Medicine, pie crust is the leading cause of cancer of males. So I really shouldn’t…
I bring MY food everywhere I go and eat with people; but I eat my food.
And yes; I have said that whole “that doesn’t fit in with my diet” saying many times and in many different ways.
I have also ordered plain chicken breasts and whole grain rice before from places like TGI fridays and places like that…don’t let the 16yr old attractive waitress say “i don’t think that’s on the menu” or “i don’t think we can do it”. There is chicken and rice on the menu…make it. You will end up paying more…but if you can do it…do it.
If your hanging around with people who will not like you for eating cream of fat soup or ice cream; that’s not the right crowd…or you haven’t manned up and fully explained your goals to them.
My friends and family know what my goals are and don’t dare question it anymore.

I feel you there man I work at a catering hall usually saturday and sunday and it is extremely hard to pass on the gourmet food they have for dinner there. And desserts, I once ate 9 canolis in a matter of minutes.
if you train hard and are in good shape already then I have no problem eating a few semi nutritious meals. its not going to kill you, it will help keep you sane and the extra calories may be of use in your recovery.
its a different matter if you are dieting for a contest or something similar.
