We lost our electricity here for about 2.5 hours here - right at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. I had to sit in the car and listen to the car radio - the AM radio at that. And I missed all of the TV commentary.
It reminded me of when I was a kid - back before the 2500 station sattelites, and we had to listen to most of the games via radio.

The commentator in the booth (Phil Simms, I believe it as) pointed it out. And he can’t see anything from up that would let him know for sure more than I can from my house on my TV.
Do I EVER agree, Rainjack! (We had a thread on this not long ago).
Has anybody EVER told him that he doesn’t have to comment AFTER EACH AND EVERY PLAY, EVERY TIME OUT, BEFORE AND AFTER EVERY COMMERCIAL or when he just wants to hear himself talk?
First off, thanks for the clarification on LT situation, Mufasa. =D
Secondly, I whole heartedly agree on Phil Simms… He definitely comments way too often…
Call me crazy, but I love listening to John Madden (I can put up with Al Micheals, but he bothers me a little). I like Larry Czonka and Dan Dierdorf (or is it Deirdorf?).

There aren’t a whole lot of people who can “out Coach” Bellichek.
If ANYBODY has a chance, it’s Dungy.

This is a joke, right?
The “defensive guru” Dungy couldn’t win in TB with that amazing defensive talent (Sapp, Brooks, Lynch, etc) their GM assembled, but Gruden did. And we’re still waiting for Dungy’s defensive magic to turn around that Colts DEF.
If IND loses on Sunday, everyone will point the finger at Peyton even though Dungy hasn’t won a big game either.

And he proved it yet again. Throwing the challenge flag with 4 minutes left? Calling timeout just seconds ahead of the 2-minute warning? [/quote]
Using their final timeout before or after the 2:00 warning doesn’t matter at all. And while that last challenge was dumb, it’s just peanuts compared to the four turnovers SD committed.
Still, Marty will be ripped because that’s the popular thing to do. Just like nobody says anything bad about Dungy. (Dungy’s coaching blunder in their Week 13 loss at TEN never did get the criticism it deserved)

Marty will get ripped because he can’t get it done in the playoffs. For whatever reason, his teams will routinely win 10+ games in the regular season, but he fails to win any meaningful playoff games.
I did mention on another thread that the “Window of Opportunity”, as the Colts are currently constituted, seems to be closing. They really need to win “The Big One”.
(Dang…has it been NINE YEARS since Peyton played for Tennessee? It doesn’t seem that long).
If that reception within the last 6 minutes wasn’t dropped, I think the chargers would have won.
They sucked, made huge mistakes that cost them the game. Everybody is saying the patriots were that good, the chargers just were that bad. I hope the colts win next week, I fear the worst though.

Timeout mis-management cost them the game. At the very least it cost them another couple of plays to get into makable field goal range and putting the game into overtime.
Probably the biggest snafu was the 4th down interception/fumble that kept the Patriots’ drive going at the end.
You can think what you want to - but from the moment that Marty put on the headset with about 4.5 minutes left, the Chargers started pissing down their leg.
I was pulling for the CHargers, and they should have won. The difference is that Marty can’t coach when it is needed most: in the crunch.
gosh darn… freakin’ Patriots… always winning in the playoffs… stupid Marty… can’t ever win…
I’m not a SD fan or anything, I just wanted to see someone other than the Pats win. But you gotta hand it to the Pats, they just win when they need to. It might not be pretty, it might not be a blow out, but they always seem to find a way to get the win.
You know, LT made a stink about what the Patriots players did after SD missed that field goal, on their emblem in the middle of the field. Talking about imitating Shawn’s dance after he makes a sack.
What he fails to mention is that most of Merriman’s sacks were at the opponents fields (and he danced on THEIR emblem)…By the way Shawn, Jason Taylor said that in the mail YOU will find some popcorn so that YOU can enjoy WATCHING the rest of the playoffs!!
