Well you do look older in your avatar.
Plus you’re fucking ugly.

LOL. Consider that my gender identity and sexual preference might not be identical to the average poster here. I might make more sense if you don’t assume I’m the same as you.
I think there are many men who identify as straight and feel as you do. Maybe they wouldn’t use the word “gross,” but they would let the opportunity pass out of disinclination.

FTFY
There is no straight 35 year old man who thinks 27 year olds are “gross”, and who would pass up sex with one because of an 8 year difference.
Not gunna happen.
Edit: I know a ton of gay guys and they’re not passing up sex with a 27 year old either.
Be_Sound wrote:
Sorry if I missed it, but how old are you?
When I was 15, I thought 27 year olds were ancient and unattractive. Now that I’m 35, I think 27 year olds are babies and frighteningly young (in general, sure there are exceptions, etc.). I’m sure it will become more pronounced as I age. I can objectively appreciate a nice fit young thing, but I don’t want to have sex with that nice fit young thing. It would just feel gross.
Having sex with a nice fit young thing half your age feels many things, but “gross” is not amongst them.

Like I said, Aussies show their age rather early.

In real life, I do not believe for a moment that Bruce Willis would have passed up a roll in the hay with Jessica Alba, despite the age discrepancy.

I’ve lived in a predominantly gay neighborhood for nearly 4 years. The bartender at the place I usually go to is gay, as are many of the waiters, my neighbors, the guy who blows me twice a week, a couple guys I play pick-up soccer with, as are some of the parents at my kids’ school…

maybe, but I’m not prepared to have sex with a 15 year old to find out…

Well, then, you have something to look forward to when you turn thirty-six.

Oh one other thing; a couple of posters mentioned Asian girls. There’s a hell of a lot of Chinese people and people of Chinese descent in Aus but they’re almost never into me. Only a couple of Australianised ones I can think of offhand. Apart from that they pretty much ignore me, not sure what it is as I do fine with other girls. Maybe I’m too intimidating with my heavy brow line and beard/moustache etc. No big deal as I’m not particularly enamoured with them generally. I dated a girl of Indian descent once though. She was a really nice girl. She was a preschool teacher. Still is probably. She loves kids and I assume she’s probably married with kids by now.
It’s not the same abroad, apples to oranges.
Your look is novelty, you’re automatically perceived as high value especially if they hold Anglo culture in high regard.
I got this in both Poland and Germany to the point where I was approached by women in a bar in a couple of instances.

Sex? Yes. Having to talk to her before or after? I’ll pass, lol.
Well, maybe 27, but I doubt I could muster the energy to carry on a conversation with someone under 24 long enough to try and get in her pants, and I’m certainly not putting in the effort post coitus.

Usually I’d object to a buried lead, but in this case it worked.
You know what? I wasn’t really processing 35/27. My ex-husband is 8 years older than me, which had us 31/23 when we met. Hockey is 7 years older and there’s nothing weird or gross about it. I guess I was thinking about Beans saying “meh” to a 24-year-old because hassle outweighs benefit. I’m not sure why 35/27 would be gross or even disadvantageous, actually.
I will say of my ex-husband that I view it as having been a mistake to accept someone that much older at that age. We were well matched at the time, which I attributed to my maturity, but in fact it was his immaturity and I quickly outpaced him in terms of emotional development. And then was trapped with a guy who is emotionally stunted. I think that happens a lot. I was very callow/naive at 23. By 30 I was able to see that at 38 he was weak and lacking in both maturity and integrity.
Whereas now I don’t think an 8, 10, 12 year difference would be an issue at all. By 30-35 you have either matured or you have not. Obviously many people do it much sooner. I was a grown-up at 27, definitely.
At one point in my life I saw the benefits of celibacy: not being told what to do, no in-laws, and going to the beat of my own drum etc. etc. If I wanted to do something, I could/would do it. The issue with that scenario is that I am a very anti-social person, and if I continued down the path of celibacy, I felt I would become… ‘strange’. Now that I have my own ‘pretty young thang’ (she’s 19, a Platonic beauty, and my best friend), I would never go back to my previous mindset.
P.S. - I was 25 and she was 18 when we met and started dating; she had no issue with the age difference. I had some doubt, but she turned out to be the most mature 18 year old female that I have ever met.
Good luck with celibacy, or happy hunting if you choose the opposite path OP!
wiggyadam wrote:

Good luck with celibacy…
I have a few characteristics that some people would probably call odd or strange or even accurately classify, and during times of celibacy they were greatly amplified!
Some people will disagree with me, and although I’ve said it a few times on here already, I don’t mind saying it again: I think there are few things in this world that can a man angrier than lack of a woman. Lack of money at times when I was younger rates high on the list, but a problem like that can be solved relatively simply and sometimes quickly.
Can someone go for years on end being celibate without being miserable, which would likely have them as “strange”? There’s no replacement for a woman.

I had figured you to be much younger than that.
Really? Why is that?
…Because the way you view the world shows a lack of personal experience. I really thought you were in your early 20’s at best. I can not imagine being in my early 30’s having never been in a relationship beyond a couple of months. Get off the net and go see the world. That grey hair can be a lady killer if you have the confidence to back it up. Women love confidence and experience…and there is a difference between a 20 something girl and a woman. Be a silverback or leave the pack. Girls can be fun, but they’re boring. Woman can be fun and keep you coming back for more.
I think you’ve misinterpreted what I said. I said an “average” of a few months. I Went out with one girl for 18 months or so and another for a couple of years. And I don’t have any problems with confidence or getting out. I do just fine.

I’m ethnically “black Irish”. They’re people with dark skin and dark hair from the West of Ireland. I also have some Jewish ancestry. I don’t “show my age” as such, I just look mature. Or more so than most the pretty boys at the gym and around the traps.
