Ken Patera said when he first met Jim Hellwig, (ultimate warrior) was in the gym in the mid 80s and Jimmy had two Snickers bars with him during the workout. Back in the 89s those bars were bigger than today!
Yes but you must take into consideration the training method as well.
Normal cookie cutters doing traditional cardio won’t get the fat burning effects the way the person doing things non traditional will, eg very intense 1-rep lifting combined with the super intense cardio style lifting eg Ultimate Warrior style.
Plus natty PB is very close to a carnivore style it’s keto really, if your working hard you don’t get fat from it as long as your eating only other keto type foods.
Drugs were rampant in the bodybuilding and wrestling world. Ken Patera was the strongest guy in that strength world plus he looked pretty jacked up in the 1980s and after his prison sentence he was pretty damn massive looking in his comeback in which he was over the hill and pretty threw Hercules in a press slam twice back to back.
Ken was a drinker but he was one of the few that stay away from the drugs. Bruno was another guy who was very power house strong and living clean.
I stated earlier people in that world don’t eat celery because they don’t think it relates to size and strength hence they instead turn to the dark road of drugs, including PEDs.

Which is fine, if you’re enjoying it and it does what you want, it needs no labels. It just feels like you’re trying to proselytize (and not proteolyse!) to quite possibly the oddest and most specific diet ever.
As a dietitian, I will go on the record saying that celery is one of the top three LEAST nutritious vegetables along with iceberg lettuce and cucumbers. Celery is good for some fluid and fiber - not a whole heck of a lot else. Your chewing time would be better spent elsewhere. You’re welcome, and I will now show myself out of this thread.
I don’t diet, I don’t really believe in a diet because I believe the body needs change.
Peanuts are in fact keto.
Lately I’ve been eating a lot of peanuts, in fact I easily killed a 3# bag of shelled peanuts in under a week (I did skip a couple days) which I just keep in my garage and eat them in between exercises, then I scoop up a zip lock bag of them and eat them while I’m cooking or waiting for my dinner.
I’m about to go buy a huge bag of them at the hardware store, a 25,000 calorie bag.
I eat all these peanuts and still don’t put on weight like fat mass. The same thing can be done with essentially a big meat type of eating.
I eat the bagels because it helps more with fuller denser muscle size. The peanuts alone would make me flat.
Keto is shorthand for getting into ketosis, by the very definition, peanuts most certainly are not ketosis.
Now moving on to what we really mean, ketosis is achieved by consuming very low carbohydrates (and measured by blood ketone levels to determine individual levels), peanuts contain 16g carbs per 100g, entirely possible to come out of ketosis by eating too many peanuts or too much peanut butter. It’s possible to stay in ketosis by eating them, but that’s the same for any carb source, it’s all dose dependent.
Anyway, you do you and enjoy your celery and results.
Good, the point of all this is everytime I include celery into my training, I get absolutely great fat loss results, for me. Meaning my goal isn’t to be as lean as Rocky 3 and 4 so that’s why I eat the bagels.
But if I wanted to get that lean, the celery will do it whether I eat PB or not.

I keep doing this and I keep eating more and more treats and carbs during the day and I’m getting leaner along with my muscles getting more swole and gorged!!!
I weighed myself for the first time in months and I was SHOCKED!!!
Freaking 189# with sweat pants shoes and my fanny pack, WTF!!!
I was 195 the last time I weighed myself.
All my lifts are going up along with reps which means I’m gaining muscle.
I’m 5’9 at best.
My shoulders from the back measure from side delts are 30+ inches. My waist measurement in the same fashion is under 19 inches.
If I didn’t eat all the treats and bagels I do during the day the waist would be smaller, but I’d also be smaller overall.
My goal is to have muscles popping out of my shirt without gaining a gut.

I’m slowly seeing more veins, that’s how I go by leanness as I also want mass.
I don’t care for the physiques that require no shirt.
See, I saw a bunch of ripped shredded dudes doing chins without their shirts, put a shirt on all those guys and you have a bunch of normal looking people.
I don’t have abs yet, but I can do a stomach vacuum. I do also have solid obliques due to lots of one arm lifting. That will also widen the waist.
I’m looking to add some weighted mid section stuff for the abs.
