Celebration time

I remember a post a while back about a kid who wanted to celebrate by smoking some weed with his friends because that was his drug of choice so to speak, and there was a huge debate, the people who smoked vs. the people who thought it was the stupidest thing they ever heard. I was just wondering why people put weed in such a demonic category, and everyone else is praising alcohol. Just some food for thought.

DS: Have fun, and don’t worry about what kind of alcohol you drink, drink what floats your boat, or what ever someone pays for.keep a bucket by the bed.

adrock: gotta disagree with the sake idea, some of the worst hangovers I have ever had invloved sake. One in particular, after a night of drinking sake, me and my buddy got up early to go fishing. I almost made it to the river, but lost it in the truck. Not pretty.

Jack and Diet Coke

Throwing down a bunch of money for high end vodka is a great idea, if you drink it straight or on the rocks. Once you mix it it might as well be Popov at $8 a bottle. Vodka, and most liquors, have subtle differences that make them taste the way they do and cost what they do. All that goes straight out the window when you introduce orange or cranberry juice, tonic water, or anything else. If throwing away money for no good reason is a status symbol I guess I’ll stay among the unwashed masses.

Why the stigma against marijuana? Plain and simple–it’s illegal and we’re programmed by our culture to dislike illegal things and to condone culturally accepted things. Weed is wonderful in the right historical and cultural context–unfortunately, we’re not living in that kind of enlightened age. Of course, with any drug or alcohol, moderation is key and abuse is no good. This said, we should give equal time to those who believe that the road of excess leads to enlightenment, as well as to those who believe that all is good in moderation, except moderation–food for thought.

what da’ fuck are some of you talking about? how in this world could you even think about telling this kid to drink grey goose? are you people sick? STOLI is now and always will be the finest quality vodka on this planet!!! maybe try some Vox but grey goose? you people are evil, pure evil.

along the lines of the tolerance issue, i havent had a sip of alcohol since last june, although last june i was also on a low carb diet. before that i think i drank in march ('01), and was feeling like i had just slammed about 4 shots after 1.5 beam/diet cokes. although i have no intentions of drinking, i cant even imagine how little i would have to drink to get smashed now. hell, i bet just smelling a beer would be enough for me to find a DD!!

thanks a lot everybody for the advice. i really appreciate it. it was really helpful. i guess i do need to loosen up a bit. anyway thanks a lot.

you could go low carb even the day of, the lowes tolerance some more… go light beer or vodka chases w/ water-- water doesnt reallly make you less drunk like people say but makes you less sluggish later on.
