CBC Steroid Documentary

Has anyone seen this documentary on CBC here in Canada? They’ve randomized groups on steroids and off to scientifically test what effects they can get over 3 weeks.

The CBC also has a page dedicated to drugs and sports:

I’ve only been watching this for 10 minutes so I don’t have a review.

I have heard four CBC Radio One steroid documentaries in the past two months. Quality CBC programming.

i saw the ‘nature of things’ steroid documentary by Davis Suzuki on CBC and was quite suprised that even they said that steroids in safe amounts can improve health. the doc focused mostly on drug testing methods and gene doping. Very well done doc, and quite suprising to see , what with CBC investing so much into broadcasting rights of the Olympics.

The high performance show was riddled with inaccuracies the most egregious was when in the 2nd part the narrator claimed that athlete’s use doses 50 fold (I watched it a few times to make sure I heard it right) more than the amounts used in the study that they were profiling. The subjects in the study were receiving 3.5mg/kg bodyweight per week or 350 mg/week for a 100 kg subject. That means a 100 kg athlete would use 17500 mg/week. Absolutely laughable.

I am puzzled because they did not show part II the next day as promised. So I was left hanging with only part I!
