Everyone’s been talking about whey VS cassein but no one ever offers the best sources or foods that are rich in one or the other. I need help clearing this up so that I can decide which foods to eat every couple of hours (whey) and which to eat before bed for a slow release (cassein).
The best food source of casein protein is definitely low fat cottage cheese, in which the protein is 100% casein, to the best of my knowledge. As far as I know, there are not really any great food sources of whey protein so you are only left with the powders in that case. By the way, milk protein is about 80% casein and 20% whey protein(human milk is the other way round to start with, then the casein content increases as the digestive system of the infant matures, until it reaches about 50/50 I believe).
