Regardless of diet, there’s simply too many benefits (both vascular and cardiac) that come with including regular, low-intensity cardio.
And none of em from excluding it.

I think you’re 100% correct about that, but he has mentioned just getting used to the AD and not having as much energy as he’d like and all that stuff that comes along with allowing your body to adapt to using fat as fuel. SO. In his particular case, I think cutting out cardio for a couple of weeks aint gonna kill him, hah.

Since i started bulking and doing 5/3/1 i will just skip it. I did a couple of days at 3100cal (maint) and was feeling straight away better. Yesterday i had 3600 cal and thats the lowest i’ll go.
In the thred above i was writing about crazy high calories that Mauro recommends for bulking (in my case over 5000cal). I’d appreciate also to hear your word about that.
To me 5000 seems a lot and i’ll try not to eat less than 4000 and on saturdays i can go iver 5000cal.
Ok guys, just a quick update on my bulk. This is day 2 and i need to eat 5200 cal as calculated using Dr D’s bulking equation. I had 4800 cal so far, so hoppefully i’ll get another 400, probably i’ll wake up in the middle of the night to eat, coz its 9pm now and i just had a huge steak with butter.
Surprisingly i dont struggle having so many calories, as many other guys actually fi d it very difficult. I guess i have a huge apetite and i love eating. If i continue like this i’ll weigh much more in a month, and most of it will hoppefully be muscle. The goal is 2lbs a week, but i’ll check my bf on this weekend.
I had around 430g protein today. Most of mu calories came from: 50ml olive oil, 250 g bacon, lots of rumpsteak, 40g butter, 30g coconut oil, tuna, walnuts, mozzarela cheese, sardines.
Tomorrow is my carb up day so its gonna be easier to satisfy daily calories. As i understood this diet, ppl usually eat almost twice as much calories on carb up days, so i’ll aim for 5000-7000 cal, i’ll prob have about 800g of carbs.
I already weigh a little bit more, but i guess its just because i consumed enormous ammounts of food and it obviously has to fit somewhere.
So far so good!
Ok, its been several days on high calories/bulking (i think this is day 5). Having 5200 cals a day is no problem for me, i always look forward to my next meal.
One very wierd result: yesterday i had carb up, 5000cal exactly, 650 g carbs including pizza and beer. This morning i weighed the same as 6 days ago before i started bulking. WTF! I was worried i’d put too much fat on with a sudden change of calories from 3000 to 5200, and i actually weigh the same. Maybe i lost some fat and gained my muscle? I feel even leaner that before bulking.
This actually encourages me and i guess answers my question whether i’d put too much fat on with bumping up my valories straight away to 5200 from 3000. I guess its safe and i’ll continue eating heaps of food.
Any comments from ppl who practised anabolic diet appreciated!
Hey everyone,
Just an update on my bulking progress. I think its going great so far. This morn i was 81.6 kg, 2.7 kg heavier than only 6 days ago when i started bulking. I checked my skinfolds yesterday-abdominal skinfold went up only 1mm, whereas my calves, quads and arms got leaner. Amazing results i reckon, it seems that most of the weight i put on is muscle.
Another wierd thing is that sabscapula went up, which is odd coz its an insulin sensitivity spot (according to Poliquin), and i havent been eating carbs on this diet apart from saturdays (carb up day). This gives me another reason to trust Poliquin less.
I’ll put some pix soon, i think i look bigger already, my abs do look smoother though.
