Man, I can´t believe how good cardio first thing in the morning makes me feel. I run, do pushups and chins, then go for a brisk walk. Looking back, I really hated it before but it seems that I have adapted. I do about 600 calories worth of cardio, EVERY day.
Nowadays, it actually makes me feels so invigorated and happy that I can´t wait to wake up to do my cardio.
Is it any possibility that my body has adapted to burn fat very effectively, which gives me this awesome stamina? I don´t wanna lick my own a** here but hey, I feel I can run for hours. I follow a low carb diet( -500 below maintenance, 70-90carbs/day) and do weightlifting 3xWeek.
Good for you. Now you know why after being out of the military for over ten years, I still start everyday with some cardio exercise. It sets the tone for the whole day.
Best of Luck.
Do you eat before morning cardio ro wait till after?
I too am a ‘morning person’ normally wake between 4.45 and 5.15 and love working out first thing, gets it done and feel great.
I would say your body has just adapted to this exercise every morning so by doing it you are staying at homeostasis. By not doing it you might not feel very good or be in a very good mood that day. As long as you look forward to it that’s fine but if you get to the point that you don’t feel like doing it, but you feel like crap if you don’t, then that is just like a drug addiction and not a very positive thing.
I eat right after my workout, around 600 calories which is split into 30 carbs( 10 carbs from spinach, which is fibrous carbs…don´t really now if I should count em), lots of protein( 60-70gms) and good fats. Good, solid fat loss. Question: How many calories could one burn in the morning( before breakfast) without crossing into the dreaded Catabolic Zone? A very theoretical question of course, but where would you set the limit?
