I’m glad you opened this thread. Biotest makes some very bold assertions (link below) regarding this (Carbolin 19) product. I’m interested in feedback from anyone who has used it…

Last time I checked, Alpha Male has Carbolin 19 in it, the exact same dosage as Carbolin 19 on its own, so therefore there is no reason not to get Alpha Male (unless you are a a female.)

Correct. With Alpha Male you are receiving the benefits of increased testosterone production stimulation from tribulas and eurycoma longfolia while inhibiting pro lactin and estrogen from another ingredient, vitex. All of this while also getting the benefits of Carbolin 19 which are increased anabolism and reduction of body-fat.
The good thing about it is you can use a cycle of Alpha Male and then keep rolling with Carbolin 19 for an extended time because the benefits of Carbolin 19 get better over time. Same thing applies to HOT-ROX Extreme which also has Carbolin 19 in it.
D
It seems that Dedicated is correct in calling Carbolin 19 a bridging product for Alpha Male and HOT-ROX.
I’ve used Carbolin 19 in some form for about 4 months straight now. It seems to work…
Carbolin 19 did a great job of preserving muscle mass for me. I was out of the weight room for a long time, and dosed with it. It seemed to help me retain most of my strength.
Yeah, but the study they cite claims that you gain 10lbs of muscle and lose 10 lbs of fat (roughly). Did any of you experience those kind of results? I always wonder about the product claims for stuff like this, although I ordered 2 bottles of Carbolin 19 to try it out.
I was taking the HOT-ROX Extreme for a couple of months, and not only didn’t I lose weight on the scale, I seem to have gained some muscle in the process -lol I assume this was from the Carbolin 19, as nothing else was changed.

There’s been much secrecy as to the amount of Carbolin 19 that is in Alpha Male.
I beleive that after MUCH debate a year ago or so in the forums the consensus was that a two tab dose of Alpha Male contained the equivalent of one cap of Carbolin 19.
So, by taking a total of 4 tabs of Alpha Male (full dose) per day you’d only be getting the equivalent of 2 caps of Carbolin 19 per day (as apposed to a “full” dose of 4 caps).
Regardless, I’ve used both by themselves and would use each again. However, I’ve seen better gains using a “full” dose of Carbolin 19 combined with a full dose of stand-alone TRIBEX. But that’s about $90 a month vs. Alpha Male’s $50 a month. I may go that rout again this winter when I’m eating plenty again.

Soldierslim,
If you check out the Alpha Male thread and scroll down to the nifty chart, you can see the breakdown of ingredients.

Thanks, it’s been a LONG time since I’ve read that one!
It’s confirmed, 4 Alpha Male tabs yeild 40mg of Carbolin 19. Whereas, 4 caps of standalone Carbolin 19 yeild 80mg. I really like Carbolin 19 but feel that I do better on the higher dose (surprise!). Also, I think that I respond better to tribulis as apossed to eurycoma, so my prefered rout is standalone Carbolin 19 (max dose) with TRIBEX.
But, the Alpha Male product is a very good deal at $50 a month.
What is the best age to even consider taking either of these supps?
The chart says that each “unit” contains 20 mg of Carbolin 19, the same as in one capsule of standalone Carbolin 19. So, is the “unit” in question one or two Alpha Male tabs?
I had presumed a “full” dose, as written in the description implies that there were 20 mg of Carbolin 19 in each tab.
But this means you are over dosing Carbolin 19 by 50% taking the maximum recommended dose of six tabs of Alpha Male in a 24 hour period. So I would presume it’s only 10 mg per tab.

As has been said, Alpha Male contains a full dose of Carbolin 19. It’s HOT-ROX Extreme that they’ve never disclosed the amount of Carbolin 19.

Right, but there’s a difference between “full dose” vs. “maximum dose”, as in the maximum recommended dose on the label. The verbiage is important.
Direct from that article:
“Because of the super-concentrated extracts, all of this active content is jam-packed into only two tablets.”
The serving size of Alpha Male is two tablets. The serving size of Carbolin 19 is one cap. So it’s safe to assume that two tablets = a “unit” of Alpha Male, and Carbolin 19’s “unit” = one cap. According to the chart in that article this means that taking the maximum recommended dose of Alpha Male (4 tabs/day) would yeild only 40mg of Carbolin 19. Taking the maximum dose of Carbolin 19 (4 caps/day) would yeild 80mg of Carbolin 19.
It’s not incorrect to say that Aplha Male has a “full” dose of Carbolin 19 because Carbolin 19’s label states to take between 2-4 caps/day. It just doesn’t have the maximum dose.
I compared Carbolin 19 and AM a little while back, actually, I started a thread about the comparison, and my take is that Carbolin 19 results were about the same as the AM except for maybe some minimal strength gains with the AM.
I ended up taking the Carbolin 19 for about 5 months before comparing the AM. I took pre and post BF%'s and I kept a daily log of my workouts to go along with a running log of my max effort lifts. At the end of the 5 months, I began taking the AM for a few months to see if there was any benefit with the AM.
In general, the two supps were very comparable as far as BF% and believe it or not, strength. The AM yielded some better maxes, but nothing earth shaking in comparison.
My conclusion was that the Carbolin 19 seemed to be as effective a supp as the AM for less money. For me, Carbolin 19 is the way to go as I didn’t think the added kick that the AM provided was worth the extra charge.
I know that some here swear by the AM, and I’m sure that it works great for most people, but for me, the old TRIBEX formula from 10 years past did the most at least according to the training logs, scale, and BF%. The more current formulation changes seem to work less and less for me.
This leads me to my next theory and comparison that TRIBEX Gold and Carbolin 19 should be a great combo for me, or at least better than the AM, at least that’s what I’m hoping.
Bottom line is that Carbolin 19 does work, but it’s sort of a sneaky supplement in that it’s not a great “feel” thing, but if you look over time, you’ll find that the results were steady and consistent. I wouldn’t hesitate to add the Carbolin 19 into supp routine again.
This probably has more to do with the fact that you’re hopefully at a more advanced stage in your development that you were 10 years ago, meaning that you’re not going to make gains as quickly unless you’ve been locked away in frozen storage. This and the fact that you’re simply 10 years older meaning tht your T levels are probably not going to get jacked up as high.

My thinking was now that I’m older, I would think that a T-booster would have a more pronounced affect than it did when I was functioning at higher t-levels naturally.
I do agree that gains may come slower and slower now than before, but I thought I’d “feel” more from the AM than I actually had.
I guess the best way o put for me was that I wasn’t expecting to get anything out of the Carbolin 19 and I did, but when I took the AM, based on my Carbolin 19 results, I figured that I was going to get much more out of it than I actually did.

A full dose of Alpha Male has the recommended maximum dose of Carbolin 19. 80mg. Each pill actually has 20mg. Please correct me if I’m wrong. The chart makes it look like there are 20mg in two pills of Alpha Male. But Tim Patterson has later said otherwise.

Not everyone really needs a boost in T.Some people have high enough natural T that a boost isn’t going to make much if any difference in performance, body comp, and well-being. For those that do, I think Alpha Male will yield better results. It depends on the person.
