Im currently doing a keto kind of diet(don’t want to day keto as I’m not sure exactly what it entails) however I have been keeping my carbs lower than 40 grams a day
I’m just wondering I need to worry about having a carb up day? or just wait until fat loss stalls? I realize with a high bf like mine that I should’nt have them as often nor should they be dirty however after reading CT carb cycling protocol I think he states for a person with a high bf that once every two weeks from a healthier source, so i’m just wondering what others opinions of carbing up are? and when would be best too carb up? could i go without needing to carb up?
my goals are too get too 8-10% bodyfat, then use the 6 day get shredded diet
if you’re not on the AD, and just a regular ket odiet, i suggest going through Lyle McD’s stuff on carb-ups.If you are real keen on losing fat really fast, then don’t carb-up, till your training really starts suffering and then after your toughest workout, go and have a carb meal. good sources etc (i suggest indian food)
P.S. Keto is not that different from whar you are doing except that you limit net carbs (total - fibre) to under 30gm/day. And over 50% of cals from fats.
You should probably carb up every 5 days assuming you train on 4 of your on days. 10 days should be max, as going lower will result in lower thyroid output and a decreased metabolism.
