Used the spreadsheet I found on here to calculate my numbers for the carb cycling diet.
Stats:
Weight: 193lbs
BF: 16%
Age: 22
Height: 178cm
Goals:
Get between 12-14% bodyfat and then continue to add Lean Body Mass.
With this diet, I adjusted the macros for mass gain…is that a good idea considering my bodyfat right now? Or should I try to get it down a bit before I try to add mass. I figured this diet would lean me out anyway so I can just eat for mass.
Protein: 289g
Carbs:
High: 361g
Med: 289g
Low: 217
Fat: 171g
Does 171g of fat seem like a bit much? Just seems out of place to me.
According to your plan you are consumming:
High carb: 37% fat
Med carb: 40% fat
Low carb: 43% fat
According to Thib’s article your macros should be (roughy):
High carb: 27% fat, 41% carb, 32% protein
Med carb: 30% fat, 35% carb, 35% protein
Low carb: 32% fat, 30% carb, 38% protein
These are the macros if you are gaining weight, if you are cutting they change drastically.
Use this article by Thib’s. It lays everything out clearly:

That number is a little high:

I plugged in all my numbers/stats in a calculator for Thibs article…
I don’t see anything in that article saying what percentages they should be but it says to consume 1.5g protein per lb of bodyweight. I’m 193 so thats 289g of protein every day. Mod carb days are the same as that according to the article, so another 289g carbs. High/low days is 361g and 217g carbs.
That leaves me with a huge calorie gap that can only be filled with…fat. Thats how I came up with 171g. I followed the article exactly.
The article does not mention percentages, I calculated them off the example he gave (220 pound BB). I find percentages easier to work with, sorry for the confusion.
