Guys

Anyone know the stance on booze when CBL? - I found it slightly strange that it’s not mentioned in the book or in any forums that I could find. I know what Martin B’s stance is with Leangains, but would be interested to know others thoughts on MODERATE low carb alcohol in the evenings (vodka soda, low carb beers etc)
I’m not drinking booze at all at present, but am off to the UK to visit friends and famlily for 3 weeks in 6 weeks or so (I live in Bangkok)and there will some evening drinking no doubt. I’m still gonna CBL - cleaner than maybe I would here. My thoughts are if your ‘density bulking’ you could get away with it in terms of not losing, but no gaining any fat? I’ll go thought teh whole prep phase after to ‘prime the ol body for fat burning’ n stuff.

Input from my learnered fellows would be greatly appreciated

Your thoughts on Denisty Bulking would be correct. But he definately recommends limiting alcohol intake. Recently, in one of his BioJacked radio shows, he mentioned that if you were to drink 3 or more drinks you may as well get completely plastered, because youve essentially shut down testosterone production for the next 5-7 days. A drink a night is probably fine with dinner.
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I’m not planning on getting completely hammered every night, (I fucking hate hang-overs at the best of times) although it’s gonna happen on occasion no doubt. Funny about the testosterone thing though. In my late 20’s, (I’m 34 now)I got hammered quite regularily…but also hammered plenty of fine as women regularily. My testosterone didn’t seem to be an issue to be honest. I take his point but 5-7 days?
I’m gonna do a google search on that one.

Yes you lose water weight during prep and that is the point i beleive that would be good indicator of how much muscle you have as you depelete glycogen you lose a ton of water. (just my hypothesis). The more water loss the more muscle kiefer is guessing you have thus the more carbs you can load
Ah ok thanks that makes some sense. By the way props on the amount of carbs you can ingest. No way in the world I can do that and not get fat(other than working out, very low activity level). Plus I suffer from Barrets esophagus and eating huge meals is a big no no and especially close to bed time so I kind of have to find a happy medium during the night time carb load to address both issues.

Hey guys

Finally, a decent thread about CBL.

2 questions;

  1. How many grams of coconut oil to use in the AM Accelerator shake & Pre Workout Ignition shake?
Kiefer prescribes 1g of MCT in the book.
That amounts to a total of around 2g fat in the whole shake… Doesn’t seem like enough?!

  2. Do any of you know any females that have done/do CBL?

I agree with the post a while back about being spoon fed.
It’s simple, if you wanna know what CBL is all about, buy the book. There’s 100+ pages of rearch & science in there, a lot of which I doubt you can find online without having to stay indoors for a year.

I believe it should be 1 tbsp, he has 1 error of measurement in the book

So I’d assume everyone is still interested in my mountain dog thread, so what things would you guys like to see on there?

It has nothing to do with being ‘spoon fed’ it’s an ebook, which apparently others have had trouble downloading and i’m a college student who needs to buy textbooks, which for the timebeing takes precedent. All I was looking for was a range, I didn’t ask for someone to take hours ans explain the methodology to me, because I’ve researched it online a great deal.

I didn’t read back over the previous pages, what was your question?

Ok, as I’m sure you’d realize you don’t have the muscle mass that a guy has. So you won’t be able to handle a carb load like we can. The book suggests that a woman has a single carb meal. No binging. You can eat what you want, but keep it to a single meal post workout. Maybe add dessert if you’re leaning out well.

Cant get on the “members only forum” for backloading. Thoughts on hot wings during prep phase. Im running my second prep phase. It would seem that there is a good ratio of fat to protein in hot wings?

You should be wary of the sauce that they use. And if they’re breaded.

what could be in the sauce do you think? I have made my own version at home, and other than butter in the sauce I cant think of anything

Well I know that BBQ sauce has upwards of 20g of carbs per serving. And if you’re going to a commercial place chances are they use a sweeter sauce. Unless you make the sauce yourself you really have no idea what the breakdown is.

10 Buffalo Wings 734 calories 46g fat 81g protein 1g carb.

Zaxbys wings!

I don’t think B-dubs would have the same breakdown lol
