Air Traffic Control. They (the government) really put a lot of stock into having their employees healthy. ie no high bp, no cholesterol problems, none of that stuff. You could lose your job for things like that.

Not to derail but, whhaaattt?? Where did you go to school? I am taking my final classes before graduation for ATC also. Already took the AT-SAT .

haha come on man! you don’t recognize my picture and name?! Siouxfan? UND? Fighting sioux? I should be getting a class date by tomorrow (at least that’s how I understood it, if not no biggie) and headed of to OKC after that. Going to be at ZLA. I’ve heard some rough things on stuckmic about the enroute classes, so I’m hopin to study hard and handle my business lol

That is awesome. How long did it take you from graduation to be getting your academy date? You going to ZLA? I here most choosing California get ZLA but, I do not if I want to live in Palmdale/Lancaster. I have also been told that the academy is getting tougher, weeding out the ones who can not make it I guess.

Hey Siouxfan, long time reader first time writer and I have to say I like this thread.
That being said this post made me laugh.

On a serious note, would you say given your results that Keifers book is worth $89? I have been keeping an eye on this thread for awhile and toying with the idea of getting the book but can’t seem to justify the price. Would it be possible for someone that owns the book to use the snipping tool or take a screen shot of the table of contents? I can’t even find a list of topics discussed as that might make me pull the trigger.

I graduated in Dec 10. It was a year till my interview (this past january) then the other stuff fell into place pretty quick. Like I mentioned I should be going this month, or in June I believe. So just over a year total I think. I also did a fair amount of networking. You’d be right in that ZLA takes it’s fair share of applicants, but it’s a huge facility. I don’t think Palmdale will be as bad as most people think. Once we reach the career point you spend the majority of your time driving to and from work. 10 times a week on average. I’d rather live close to work (think less that 15 min commute) and drive an hour once or twice a week to see friends or for entertainment than have to suffer through 45 min each way to live in santa clarita. I don’t know for sure yet where I’ll be living though. Besides, Palmdale is a lot cheaper than other places. Also, if there is a place you want to go that isn’t in fact ZLA, I’d suggest some hardcore networking. I swear it’s one of the reasons I was picked up in my first panel.

Where do you live? What school do you go to? Which facility did you want to work at?

The majority of the book (think the first 30 chapters or so) is all about the science behind it. I’m not 100% sold on the book either even though I have it. I’m almost positive there are still some tricks kiefer has up his sleeve reserved for his paying clients that he didn’t include in the book. The actual backloading part is only about 5 chapters long or so. He’s also been developing some software to completely plan out diets for people as well that will be for public use. So you can type in all the info it needs and tell it you want to lean out, or bulk up and it’ll shit out a diet specifically for you. That’s something I’d wait for, not the book personally. Not that I think it was a bad purchase either, I just think the diet software will be better than the book is.

Also, wasn’t joking about the health post and the government. If you don’t maintain good health they shit can your ass no questions asked. At least that’s how I’ve understood it. Hence the eventual switch to MDD. Plus my log there will be just as detailed as it is here, since I know a lot of people are curious about meadows’ methods as well. Also, check out MODOK’s Q&A 2, he’ll be doing a writeup of CBL this week.

You are way angrier than you need to be about this. Its entirely your own fault if you didnt workout how to use the ideas properly. My diet is no less healthy for including skittles and icecream. Im still getting the same amounts of healthy foods.

If you don’t think your diet is any less healthy for including skittles and ice cream then I’m sure your skittles and ice cream wouldn’t be any less if i were to piss and shit into them. Keep eating foods that induce depression, acidic environments and oxidative stress. You are being foolish in body and mind. Probably not every freaking time though.

You aren’t sure he meant anything. Had you been sure he was talking about just that one freaking time that would be reference to carb nite and not carb back loading. When he means every freaking time that refers to carb back loading. Separate books, separate ideas, separate freaking times. When you become sure of things that happen on phone calls you aren’t on then you become sure of things using your wild imagination and you need more then carb control to nip that in the bud. Head on over to amazon dot come just this freaking time and get a book on how to control your imagination. Its imagined you into my phone call with the man, its also imagined you into believing candy is part of a healthy diet.

Agreed.

SW why dont you call up your best bud kiefer and find out what you can do as you seem to be on such good terms with him. Somehow i doubt you are on talking terms with him and he gave you the go head to backload with the crap (aka pop and highly processed food) when its not working for you. I would imagine if you did tell him this he would say eat less junk and if you are going to eat homemade junk and eat less carbs. Oh wait he says this exactly in the book that you didnt read.

I’d say from how hard this guy is trying, he is trolling.

Not trolling man. When people put me down to play a statement of probably i’ll just high light how annoyed they made me. I didn’t sit on the phone for 30 mins for nothing. I don’t want to be expected to sit idle while some guys gives me the summation of a call i had. " well what he meant was probably".
No dick i was the corespondent, and no guy i’m not a troll. I’m a dissatisfied customer.

I didn’t invite you into a debate. I don’t even know you. I don’t recognize you from talking in the past. This is a place for people to share their experiences. I shared mine then got attacked. Fuck your selfs. You don’t have to like my experience or opinion.

Now SW is set to ignore. By By

I feel bad i participated in this derailment. Souix what are the plans for the next back load? What does your split look like.

In the podcast previously posted Kiefer lists using the diet as an excuse to eat junk food all the time is one of the biggest mistakes people make on the diet. Not calling you a liar, but you have to understand that from other peopleâ??s perspective on this thread, that is the more credible story.

So yesterday I got busy, and I didn’t even get to play basketball. So I thought I’d cut some carbs, seeing how on off days Kiefer suggests 30g or less (I’m doing more of the density bulking route, but just wanted to test it out). So yesterday I just tried to keep it under 100g of Carbs, ended up around 75g or something for the day.

Well today I woke up with a huge headache, and felt like shit. Bench, Squat, and Deadlift for HFS work this morning, I had no explosiveness, and my afternoon workout suffered as well. All day I’ve felt sleepy and kind of shitty. This happen to anyone else after a low-carb day? I literally never went under 100g Carbs for a day in my life, but I didn’t expect any real difference.

Ryan I know you basically thrive on carbs, experienced anything similar?

I’m doing this and still losing weight lol. If I keep at it consistently till the end of summer instead of falling off the wagon I’m sure we’ll see some interesting results.

well I can kinda relate. Last sunday I ate at my parents after training and thought Id be getting enough dodgy carbs etc to fill me up. After dinner I still felt like I hadnt eaten enough. Sure enough next day I felt pretty ratshit and had a subpar squat workout. Made sure to eat my normal amount that night and felt great all the next day even though I ended up fasting longer than normal (till 3 instead of 12)

Thanks!

Backloading as I understand it so far:

Skip breakfast. First meal is 3+ hours after waking.
Fat and Protein meals only until post workout.
Workout should occur between 3pm and 5pm.
Carb and Protein until last meal by 9pm.
Carb heavy, consume the whole dayâ??s worth of carbs in the time after workout until last meal of the day.
Supplement with Leucine, Whey, Creatine, and Caffeine.

Depends on what i do on that day of low carb. I normally have one off day a week and i make that an incidental day only (kinda my one day to eat a normal amount of food and what not). If anything its just some low intensity cardio work this day. I normally feel fine the next day but my shoulder session is the day after and weights have not been increasing as fast as my other days which i backload a ton of carbs before. Starting to think the reason might be the low carb day before. I might have to play around with it. So i guess i still feel fine but workouts may be suffering even though i feel ok. But if i do a string of low carb meaning for me less than 200g it starts to add up and i feel like crap
