Carb back loading was a foolish mistake for me. Going from enjoying a diet of red meat, chicken, vegies and oatmeal. To including cookies, twinkies, cake rolls which eventually lead to a can of soda being on my desk as i type this.
The results are minor. It isn’t in the best interest of good health. It shouldn’t be promoted.
Anyone who gives advise that makes people go from eating clean to eating dirty should be tied at the ankles and dragged through town.

Kiefer says in the book not to make it an excuse to eat shit food, which you obviously did. For sweets he advises to eat homemade things as to keep it less processed. I have switched to potatoes, rice and finibars only and feel great. It can be done with clean foods and I would suggest to people to keep it as clean as possible.

Except on leg days. Cuz I just made some rice krispies. But once I get back from my job training in Oklahoma I’m planning on getting meadows for a year of both diet AND training. I shall then promptly start a new thread so you all can see what happens to me lol.

honestly my best results have been using the combination of leangains IF, CBL, with my bulk of calories consumed around 8-9 pm or so after my last training session. The reason I think this works for me is because I eat very clean 6 days a week (sweet potatoes, rice, veggies, lean animal protein), and I get 1 dinner a week where I can eat whatever I want.
Try CBL again, but eat clean when you do it. I know I could not get away with junk food no matter what, and I train twice a day, five days a week, when I have a fight coming up. Oh yea, and before I found MMA, I used to weigh almost 200 lbs, and i have the pics to prove it

So you did exactly what he said to not do in the book, congrats. No wonder you saw terrible results. How do you justify pop on a backload. That is HFCS. How is that gonna help you recover from a workout?
I applaud some peoples ability to twist what they read.

cough cough I just ate 5 rice krispies lol. Even though I’m being a fat kid I’m still dropping weight weekly.
But you made them. That is a bit differnt than twinkies and pop. Also you are not complaining about how bad CBL is. So you are doing it right lol
Other guy decides to just not really listen to any of the info and just eat a bunch of junk then claims CBL is terrible when he did wrong from the get go. If you are gonna not run the program or diet the way its written you cannot say it doesnt work. At least do it the way its supposed to, see how it works then give it your own personal spin. (hope any of that makes sense) And Souix you are doing exactly that…what works for you

I’ve also decided to keep the real bad shit to leg day only. For example eating 400g worth of rice krispies lol. But the rest of the week is going to be rice since the demand isn’t as big on those days.

I have been trying to pound the rice back, but I am having a hard time eating all of it. It is more of a stomach capacity problem. I use some waxy maize to subsidize the rest. Occasionally if I am short on time, I have these chocolate chip mint squares that are pure sugar.

I spoke to john on the phone. When i told him that at 1130 pm when i knew i had time to get to the store and back before curb ur enthusiasm i had found my self getting an Italian sub, a bottle of soda and donuts cause they were on sale.
I didn’t buy the book. I didn’t read the book. I spoke to the man.
He justified it to me. He said it was ok and to be all about it. To enjoy myself.
You members don’t have to like what i have to say but to attack me for it. Hey F you.
I heard it from the horses mouth. I didn’t buy some over priced book. I had your leader calling me at my house.\
I still back what i said. Any advise to go from a clean diet to including crap food is advise whos results aren’t worth the advise. Its Grey area bull shit.
Tried my first REAL major Backload (for me at least tonight). Got in 550g Carbs from Gatorade, Chocolate Milk, Fruity Pebbles, Rice, some Sweet Tea, and some Donuts. Not the cleanest, but I was rushed today, only had a 2 hour window to eat all that.
Was a lot easier then expected. I can’t imagine getting that much in just rice and potatoes though…

500g of carbs would be 83 oz, or roughly 5 pounds of rice lol. I’m going to keep the highest and dirtiest backload to leg day. the rest will probably be 250g or lower and rice mainly

I’m enjoying the hell out of it right now. I can’t say for sure if I’m getting any leaner, but I sure as hell aren’t getting fatter. Which I’m perfectly happy with. My career will depend heavily on my health, so I’ll be switching to mountain dog when I get hired. Although I enjoy this I’ve wondered what the long term effects could be.
So after eating almost an entire 9x13 worth of rice krispies I gained less than a pound. LOL

Air Traffic Control. They (the government) really put a lot of stock into having their employees healthy. ie no high bp, no cholesterol problems, none of that stuff. You could lose your job for things like that.
