Pardon my ignorance, Pat. What car is that? It looks exotic, almost but not quite over-the-top.

Why does your favorite car has a microphone?

( Just curious )

What microphone?

I see the Phantoms rolling around but I honestly have yet to see a drop head. Very special car indeed.

There is a microphone resting on the door of the driver’s seat.

Sorry, should have put that… It’s a Bugatti Type 57.
And yeah, they don’t get more exotic than that. I’d take that type 57 over the Veyron any day of the week. Of course, could buy 5 Veyrons for the price of that car. It’s super rare. Like all Bugatti’s.

So you can record while you roll, duh. That car does everything…in style.

Actually I’d be super happy with a Boss… Which is somewhat realistic for us regular folk.
That or a GT500. I really like the absurdity of the GT500.

So…a car love thread…makes me sad right now…and happy at the same time. lol
New pretty cars are a magnet for idiots just dying to put a dent in it somehow…Sorry man.

Pat, my buddy has a rag-top super snake, 600 freaking HP. That thing is pretty sick.

A twin turbo mod on a v12 Ferrari? I bet that wasn’t cheap. Ironically, it likely drops the value. I couldn’t even imagine this. I drove a 599 around the block with the most intervening nanny setting and it would still peel the skin off your face.
With the blowers at full spool, I couldn’t imagine the acceleration. Any idea on the HP rating?
No clue, just a random picture i found on the internet and saved since it’s sweet.

this company makes some of the faster cars in the country

WOW! Can you get a pic? I’d love to see it.

People don’t get car guys. They think we want the cars to show off to others. I want the cars because I like the cars. I don’t give a shit if somebody else is impressed. The acceleration, the handling, the look and feel, the sound, the genius of design, that is what intrigues me.

I don’t want a Ferrari because it can get chicks, I want a Ferarri because it’s an amazing machine. I like staring under the hood and look at the design cues and the ingenius methods of problem solving. Looking at tubing and wiring that initially does not make sense to see why the engineers put it in there.

One of the most impressive under the hood looks is the 911. The engineering is amazing in that car. How the hell they made a rear engine car with a boxer 6 one of the premier sports cars in the world is just awe inspiring.
The genius of rear engine is the bite it gives the rear tires. That’s why they’ve always been able to accelerate faster that cars with 100 more HP. I just really love cars.
It started at 4, when I first set my eyes on a Ferrari 512 BB, I became a car guy at that moment.

Wow. I could swear it looks like a microphone.

Thanks.

I love this car.
We had a '76 Eldo. It was the biggest piece of shit on earth, but it was pretty. It was a maintenance nightmare, but it had a 501. The hood was as long as a truck bed and it holds the record for being the worst handling car ever made. The Front wheel drive did not help. Unfortunately this was the mid-'70’s and only had 230 HP. What a waste of a big block.

This is how badly designed this car was, the power steering and power brakes ran off the same pump.

It did have interesting features though. It used fiber optics for the turn indicators on the fenders, auto dimming headlights and road like a living room couch, when it ran.

This is another car I am really interested in owning one day soon. Not sure what soon means, but the prices on this car are fairly reasonable.

It’s a great car, 330 naturally aspirated HP out of an long stoke inline 6 that revs to 8000 RPM. Strong torque all the way through the power band. Handles like on rails. Old school, no funky tranny, just a sweet shifting 6 speed.
As an all around car, I think it’s one of the best ones BMW ever made. I love the M division, but this one has a special place in my heart. How can you not love a car with 6 throttle bodies?

I don’t like Porshe except the 928.

I do like the Ferrari Dino, which reminds me of a Porshe but takes it to another level.

The Italians are masters of aesthetic design, in my opinion.

By the way, Pat, the Chiappa Rhino 200DS is also Italian design.

It’s amazing, not more than 10 years ago nobody wanted these cars. You could pick one up for $30,000. Now they are going $300,000. Same with muscle cars. Damn collectors, they priced all these cars way out the range of us regular folk and now we can’t touch’em.
