the 993 Turbo might be my favorite car ever
My Blacked out 2013 challenger r/t that i’ve been working on got side swiped on my way to work this morning. Lady wasn’t paying attention and tried to change lanes into my lane. She claimed she didn’t see my car because it was hard to see…WTF???
So…a car love thread…makes me sad right now…and happy at the same time. lol

Okay guys and gals, I don’t think we’ve had a car thread for a long time, not since jjackkrash posted photos of Ct. Rockula’s coffinmobile. That thread went sideways pretty fast.
So, post photos, descriptions, praise or condemnation of your sweet, sweet ride. Make us jealous; make us laugh or cry. Tell us about losing your virginity in the back of a Ford Fairlane wagon.
I was inspired reading this story earlier today:
This man Owned & Drove the same car for 82 YEARS. Can you imagine even having the same car for 82 years!?
“How Long Have You Owned a Car?”
Mr. Allen Swift (Springfield, MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Piccadilly-P1 Roadster from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift in 1928.
He drove it up until his death in 2010…at the age of 102 !!! He was the oldest living owner of a car that was purchased new. It was donated to a Springfield museum after his death.
It has 1,070,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead silent at any speed and is in perfect cosmetic condition. 1,070,000 miles - not kilometers!! That’s Best British engineering of a bygone era. I don’t think they make them like that any more.

That’s a way cool story. I bet that sucker is worth some bucks now.

No problem. “Maintenance” is not bad per see on oil changes ect $250-$300 every 10k and mine is a garage queen so I only drive it when I feel the need for speed. Replacing parts and tuning is a different story, because it’s really a race car with race car parts shrouded in a BMW sedan. Pretty much everything cost $3000 - front brakes $3k rear brakes $3k, tune up $3k, you get my point. Tires are about $200-300 each for the fronts (265) and the rears are about 300-400 (285) just depending on brand and all that. All that said, I never owed a BMW before this and the M5 is just flat out remarkable and nasty fast and growls like a Nascar. I wouldn;t recommend it as a daily driver as it’s VERY aggressive even when not in M mode, but zero buyers remorse on this one. I smile every time I drive it.

i like the car. i really like the girl in the car ha
Thank you for that.
I was wondering if it was worth it and from all you wrote it is: seems like it takes driving to another level ( that step closer to racing cars ).
It was my husband who introduced me to the M5 as the one he would buy if choosing to spend money on a car.
I will share your review with him.
Truly a special purchase.
This video illustrates what you said very well: I am sold on this car!

Thanks, that video was fantastic! I had never seen it before. “The last great “hurrah” to naturally aspirated power!” So true! That video really sums up the V10 M5.
Another pic of mine…it has the red leather and carbon fiber interior.[/quote]

A twin turbo mod on a v12 Ferrari? I bet that wasn’t cheap. Ironically, it likely drops the value. I couldn’t even imagine this. I drove a 599 around the block with the most intervening nanny setting and it would still peel the skin off your face.
With the blowers at full spool, I couldn’t imagine the acceleration. Any idea on the HP rating?

One of the prettiest cars in the history of cars…
