Can Taking Test Cause Gallstones?

Hi was hoping someone might be able help been taking testosterone started earlier this year made a massive difference mentally and with energy levels

Over last 4 weeks I’ve had issues with my gallbladder gallstones just wondering if was any link as I’d rather not stop taking the testosterone as the benefits have been significant

What does your practitioner say? I’ve not heard of any causation.

’ Are incident gallstones associated to sex-dependent changes with age? A cohort study’

Nonsense. I’ve seen guys start TRT and blame everything that happens from this point on on TRT, don’t be that guy.

Testosterone whether exogenous or endogenous has the same affects, benefits on the body.

Here is the pertinent info from the study you posted as it relates to males.

In males, increasing levels of SHBG was significantly associated to incident gallstones (OR 0.97, 95% CI [0.94; 0.998]). No other significant associations for changes in physiology, lifestyle, or reproductive hormones were identified (Table 3). In subgroup analyses of male baseline reproductive hormones, increasing free testosterone was significantly associated with incident gallstones (OR 1.15, 95% CI [1.02; 1.30]). Baseline SHBG was significantly associated with incident gallstones in model one but not when body mass index was added in model two (Table 4).
