Can drinking too much water harm you?

I would think no, but I’m curious. Over the last month or two I’ve begun to drink 4-6 litres daily. Are there any possible problems this could cause?

Yes, it’s possible to drink too much water, but usually it’s relative to electrolytes. A condition can develop called hyponatemia, or low sodium. Usually not a problem in the American diet, but it can happen.

Be careful when it comes to water! Scientific studies have repeatedly shown that excessive water consumption by any mammal may lead to an extremely lethal occurence known as “drowning”.
