I think this is somewhat of a trick question because the goal posts change from the question itself to what is being presented
The question relies on what we consider a burpee (which is subjective). Those variations are technically a burpee but technically not one either because they consist of another exercise done more than a burpee.
If you asked me whether the video above could build muscle then the answer is a yes. Not the most optimal, not the fastest but 100% will get the job done with consistency and hard work.
But I personally consider the video to be calisthenics with burpees involved and not burpees.
If you asked me can burpees build muscle without showing me the video I would lean to the answer no. Just because of what I consider to be a burpee.
This is a prime example of an instance where if we were both hard headed we would argue despite being in agreement (about the variations building muscle) because of our different interpretation
