Holy crap! So THAT’S what it’s like to have big calves! I’d love to look down and see those big things on my legs someday…

To all you calves lover try this meadows workout
Put 1-2pps on the legpress machine (dont use 2pps, srs…I used one and wanted to shit my pants still)
Do 60secs worth of reps (i get about 40reps in there so not an ultra fast or ultra slow pace)
Rest 60secs
Repeat 3 more times
Have fun[/quote]
Gonna try this.

chiming in because I was cursed with the shitty calf genetics. All the guys in my family have the naturally blessed calves, and most played college level sports or higher. I have the same thigh genetics and speed as them, but my calves are SHIT!
heres a pic of me on a leg day with some pump, for reference thigh about 27 inches, calves about 16, arms about 16
yes it looks and feels like shit… ![]()
i train my calves, maybe 12 sets a week , tried heavy, light, volume, single leg, toe walking, jumping rope… i get nothing but foot arch pain from too much training… PS super flat feet
enjoy my disproportionate legs

have you tried partials out of the bottom a la JM?
nice quads btw
Instead of creating another topic I’ll ask this question here: How the hell do I do seated calf raises at home? I put a 25 lb dumbbell on my right leg and put my foot on an elevated piece of metal. I could stretch my foot down all the way as if doing standing calf raises, but I couldn’t feel a stretch. Do I need more weight or what? Sometimes training at home is a pain in the arse…
Mike Matarazzo, Dorian Yates and Paul Dillett have to be the calf kings.

I’ve started doing those most recently, i have a real hard time feeling the gastroc contract hard, I often feel the soleus pretty hard tho ![]()
My calves only grow when I do donkey calf raises or toes presses. Bending at the hips stretches them more than standing and it seems to do the trick.

wow, I want those quads !
16 inches is not so bad (mine are 13.5 !) but your big thighs make them look small, for sure
Mat’
When I was training some strongman events it seemed like everyone had huge calves, is it just the sport and people who tend to get into it or is it safe to assume that kind of training always built them up? We did a lot of prowler work / truck pushes etc though and you really felt those everywhere. I guess that doesn’t really have a place in bodybuiling exactly though haha
