damn Cal, that is frustrating! But at least you’re looking leaner, which means SOMETHING is working. Maybe you should throw in some sort of colonic cleansing in there…altho that doesn’t sound as healthy as “eat your veggies” haha!
But good job getting into the gym and putting in a decent workout! Well done. 28k DB rows is BIG btw. Nice.
Busy week ahead of you! Put your nose to that grindestone and have fun. Good luck with the netball tourney! Netball always reminds me of Kath and Kim btw. hah!
Best of luck with the craziness this week. Hope the diet goes a little better. I’m interested to hear exactly what a swimming gala is, maybe you can tell me when you return.
Turning during the waiters’ walks is the hardest part. Very challenging. A guy walked in front of me when I was turning last week and it almost got really ugly!
Have fun w/the BF… your relationship sounds like mine. FML
Swimming Gala? Don’t you have that word in the US? It’s a competition - lots of races. Most secondary (senior) schools have them but mine is a primary school and a lot of our girls can’t swim, or can’t swim well, so we’ve got half of them in the rec pool, which is very shallow, and half in the shallow swimming pool, which is still shallow but not as shallow as the rec pool.

Oh, ok. We just call it a swim meet. “Gala” makes me think of people in evening wear. Tragic to hear that some kids can’t swim. I think everyone should be able to swim. Water safety is important.
Cal, sorry to hear about your frustration =(
Just focus on how you look, I’ve been at 141 lbs for EVER but there’s still changes, and I’m sure that’s happening with you as well.
Also sucks about the boyfriend, I hope something works out.
Cal - Good luck getting through all the busy stuff this week. Where does mentioned love interest live?
As for your fat loss efforts, just TRUST THE MATH. You know if you are creating a deficit, you body is going to have to give it up. If the scale isn’t showing your hard work, it’s just water fluctuations, bloating, whatnot. Low carbing is a tough adjustment. Keep on keeping on.
omg cool swim vids! Do you people really do colon cleansing?! For the life of me, I cant convince myself that this is a healthy thing, or that it would significantly impact your health/weight one way or the other. I’m sure there’s a thread on that…

i fear the booty cleanse as well…:{ but whatever’s clever:{?
I’ve spent much of the weekend writing school reports and planning the swimming gala. I got to the gym on Saturday and again Tuesday but didn’t run. Honestly, I just didn’t feel like it. I feel slightly guilty because I have a 10K next weekend but I’ll be OK for that I am sure as I have a good amount of baseline stamina (not that I will run fast, but I’ll get it done).
After some reflection I’ve taken myself off the diet for the time being. The trouble with low carb is that it not only makes me feel like the walking dead but it also messes with my motivation and ability to concentrate. This is just not going to work during report writing and planning time. It’s a pretty mad time anyway - I have parents evening on Thursday and then an open day on Saturday the 26th. I will be glad of the Easter break (even though much of it will be taken up with lesson planning).
I did go to Nicole for ART on Monday. I was gurning and grimacing like Jim Carrey as she went into my soft tissues. I’d strained my levator again (in bed, sleeping with my head at a funny angle) and then I had her try to fix the funny back of knee business. It’s a small muscle called the popliteus (see: Popliteus muscle - Wikipedia)
I had Googled my problem and had suspected this could be the culprit and it turns out I was correct. It would explain why the leg felt as though it wasn’t being unlocked properly. Let’s just say that getting ART on it was excruciating (Nicole also did some stuff around the elbow and forearm that was also wince-inducing).
She has suggested I do a lot of unilateral leg work to get my weaker left side working properly. That is the reason my left leg, glute and groin tie up after running for a while. I HATE unilateral work but I guess I’d better suck it up and do it. I did a glute workout on the Tuesday. It was boring, but my glutes are feeling the after effects today.
Anyway, that’s all from me for now. Back in a few days.
popliteus. for some reason i find that name to be really funny. glad you are hanging in there with your busy-ness. makes sense that now isn’t the time for low carb. hope you have a good week.
