I have been practicing Kali/Escrima for about a year now. I absolutely love it. There’s just something about working the rattan so hard that chips are flying :).
I have a 36’’ cavalry saber (Civil war replica) with no edge. I also have a set of decorative Katanas that were very cheap. They look pretty though.
I also have a “Battle Ready” broadsword. The blade is quite sharp, though I don’t beleive it is actual sword steel.
Just got myself an aluminum training Barong to go with my rattan too.

You are into Western blade styles?

Thanks. I love blades of all types - short, long, Oriental, Spanish, Roman, whatever. I started my small collection with the Spanish swords because of the tales I’d heard of the great warrior El Cid.
I have also been fascinated with the Samurai since I was a small boy, and after I started training in martial arts my collection started going in a different direction.
Now unfortunately between my family and my business I have neither the time nor money for training or collecting.
