Calling All Swordsman

My friend has this one.

I gotta get some pics of me holding them…

One more for the night.

The Roman War Machine would be proud of this…

Weight: ~6 pounds
POB: 4 inches
LOA: 47 5/8 inches
LOB: 33 1/4 inches
Steel: “Living steel”
Finish: Polished with floral etching
Blade Width - Hilt: 1 3/4 inches
Blade Width at Tip: 1 inches
Blade Thickness: 1/4 inch
Handle: Ebony and Dymondwood with wire wrap
Guard: Carved brass
Pommel: Carved brass

Northern style shaolin kung fu (1yr), ninjutsu (2yrs), dog brothers stickfighting (1.5yr).

Love sword combat, not something I’ve kept up with lately unfortunately.

I’d need to design my own weapon.

if i can get some pics of what I have I’ll post them… see if i can get my camera phone working.

Personal fav of the one’s you’ve posted.

I was wondering what this thread was going to be about, there was so much potential for something else dealing with swordfighting…

That’s what all the pickle guys do. Always have a great time up there, but I wish they had a few more merchants selling arms. They usually only have three, and two of them are very small.

I am not a swordsman, but I am a
“sword man”. I have always loved swords, knives, and various other weapons of the sort, but still my favorite is the sword. I dont think I will ever be learning how to wield one, but this fall i will be learning to creat them, by hammer, anvil and forge.

besides learning how to black smith, I also have many to make swords and fantasy weapons. My favorite one i have and hope to make someday is a two handed sword 6 inches wide (at widest point, 1 inch thick (also at thickest), and a grand total of a 6foot blade, all made from titanium, cnc cut, then precision ground to a fine edge.

I have a rough sketch drawn out, next step is to make a better drawing maybe on cad, with dimesions, angles of edges. then after that I will try some scale models on some regular steel. This is just one of my projects I hope to complete down the line in the next few years as i learn more about sword crafting.

Your swords are beautiful.

I’m not a swordman in any way, but I did train with the Wushu Broad Sword for a couple of months. Eventually I dropped it due to time restraints, and also because I fell in love with Double Daggers and Three Section Staff.

Eh, try to keep away from the decorative swords, my friend. While they may look cool, and be alot cheaper, they are garbage when cutting. Basically, anything under 900 dollars is crap. Sorry to say, that might cover most of your swords.

I’ve been practicing for about 5 years, cutting for about 3. Swinging swords is alot different than swinging a bokken or shinai. You should get youself some goza to cut, and a blade to go along with it.
www.bugei.com has some good products(when in stock). I normally stock up on mats and other items once a year from them.

If you ever want help getting into cutting or need help finding a blade, feel free to drop me a line.

Please visit www.angelsword.com, My last sword puchace was $8,000.00 and as I stated in my first post, its in my will to go to my nephew should I die before I have kids.

My sword before that was $5,000.00, and no sword I own cost me less then $3,000.00

I should post some more Avalon blades, so you get a better picture of what were dealing with.

These are real combat blades, not replicas. They look nice and are 100% functional, hence their price.

I have a friend in NY who’s buying a cnc milling machine and going to be doing what you will be pretty soon. Its a fantastic thing, not a lot of money in it, but you defidently get a sense of pride in every blade you make.

Good luck with that, I hope it works out for you. If they’re combat practical, I’ll look into buyng one from you.

Then you’ve defidently seen me before. I had a green doobie and yellow tunic, carried an very large bowie knife. Yep. Best damn job in the whole faire.

Just kidding, nice weapons, how exactly do you compete in swords btw, I am picturing it in my head and well, its frightening to say the least,
