First you call fencers gay, then you call them real athletes.Make up your mind.
For me,watching fencing is great.Very aggressive,lightning quick moves,lots of tactics and nerve-breaking turn-outs.

Dont spite on something just because you dont like it.
If you are athlete,at least have some respect for athletes from other sports.[/quote]

I said sticking your sword in another man was gay. I was joking. Do they have humor in Croatia?

Yes,a sophisticated one.

Sorry for the bump, but I only decided to search for fencing on here recently.

For the record, it’s incredibly athletically demanding to be a good fencer, and a very high level of critical thinking and planning ahead is necessary.

Please, don’t knock fencing until you’ve tried it. Question, be critical, but don’t demean until you’ve been made into fair game. Watching it on YouTube doesn’t count as participating.

I’ve been fencing (sabre) for about 9 years, and I am a freshman on a Div I team. My fencing improved dramatically as an unintentional side effect when I started lifting a few years ago. I started lifting because I didn’t want to be a scrawny bastard anymore. For the record, I now train using primarily olympic lifts and heavy weights. Chin-ups with a 45 strapped to me over bicep curls any day.
