I haven’t read any of the posts but how pysically fit do you need to be to fence? I mean come on seriously. You poke somebody with a stick, you dont make contact your barely even move. No offence or anything.
So, you’ve never actually fenced then!!
When you’re fencing you move for the whole fight, if you stay still you get hit!! Fencing is alot like boxing in terms of the kind of fitness and explosive movements required.
At what level did you fenced?
I fenced internationaly in saber in 2002.

Fencers smell funny. I always remember them practicing in the lunch room in high school and making it smell like… man, there is no explanation for it.
Anyway the sport is gay. Buy a gun instead.
If fast & furios combat sport like fencing is gay, then what is baseball and basketball?

A couple of the best fencers in the world.
I am pretty sure they are not the best, cause one of them is just standing there, while the other one works…so they are kinda slow…I wont go into the quality of work though.
It would seem that fencing only requires reflexes and dexterity, but it actually requeires tons of explosive power(especially in the legs) and endurance, let alone high level of agressiveness and mental toughness.
The rates of work in elite fencing are so intensive that fencing is considered like heavy athletics.

Are you suggesting that competitive fencing is not testosterone-fueled?
Or hard-core?
Yes.
Lol I don’t understand fencing… I just picture two British guys going at it with these little pieces on metal that have a computer chip at the top to award points.
I have tried fencing before and it hurts like bloody hell when you get whipped on your rest/arms, but really it’s not a very exciting sport or hard-core by any means.
I think I’ll just shoot someone if it ever comes down to a duel

Sticking your “sword” in another man is gay.
Basketball and baseball are not.
You seem obsessed with gays.Any hidden issues?
Nope. Just answering your question.
BTW, fencers are real athletes but it is a boring sport to watch.

Routines of National Fencing Teams are being kept secret.
Lifting weights is not so important in fencing, anyway
I had a talk with Mark Rippetoe on the subject of fencing and Kendo. He wrote some guidelines for the use of weight training for fencers and it was great - it is probably in the NSCA archives and you could find it there.
He also has a Q&A forum at the strengthmill.com - he’s just a great coach and he’d probably be happy to share his thoughts with you.

First you call fencers gay, then you call them real athletes.Make up your mind.
For me,watching fencing is great.Very aggressive,lightning quick moves,lots of tactics and nerve-breaking turn-outs.
Dont spite on something just because you dont like it.
If you are athlete,at least have some respect for athletes from other sports.
