Calisthenics for 6 Months, Progress Slower Than What is Normal

after 2 years person can just maintain its muscle mass. i am not interested into strength aka how much can I lift. that is for little kids. oh i can lift 500 lbs.
yes. they can build upon int.

But they could also build upon it, yes?

But you can do what, 2 pullups? Don’t you think getting stronger would raise that number?

A person could “maintain” as much or as little muscle as they currently have by simply staying the same…I’m not sure what significance 2 years of progress holds for you.

You’re right. World records in powerlifting, weightlifting, and strongman are childish.

Clearly not.

I would be very pleased if it would be possible to gain 1kg muscle per month when you can do only 2 chin ups every 2 days.
ARe you 2 years of resistance training doesn’t lead to a muscular body? For me it does.
Aren’t there people where you think “he looks muscular, but doesn’t lift much, he might train for hypertrophy only”
POwerlifters look different than bbers.

I’m not even really sure what this means. Are you saying a person who is only capable of doing 2 chinups every other day can only gain 1kg of muscle a month? If you squatted, pressed, and did various other movements, your chinup strength may not improve but you’d probably get bigger. And, unless you’re fat (you’re not) your chinup strength probably would improve at the same time.

Again, not sure what this means. Is English not your first language? Serious question, not an insult. I’m guessing you meant “Are you saying 2 years of resistance training doesn’t lead to a muscular body?” Because no, I am not…but it looks like it hasn’t for you.

No. I don’t lift at a public gym, and when I did, I didn’t really see many big or strong people. The ones I did see though were always both (big and strong).

Yep. Basketball players look different than gymnasts. Different training leads to different results. But I still don’t really know where you’re going with this.

Exactly, the 6 months I trained were fucking slow progress. Multiply it few times so you get 2 years and I would not look like I did resistance training at all.
That powerlifters and stronglifters can lift more than bodybuilders and calisthenics guys. But their muscle mass might be smaller. Because they train different. Mostly volume difference I think.
Do you wanna help me find out why I didn’t gain anything?

why you not replying to me?

Typically if you train longer, you see more results. I’m confused - did you train for 2 years or just 6 months, and you assumed based off of that you’d know what 2 years would lead to?

I’m not sure if it’s that they have less muscle mass, or that they are typically not lean enough to really display that muscle mass.

He looks like he’s got a decent amount of muscle mass.

Yeah, I’ll send you a link. It’ll explain it all:

Read what all the big, strong posters said to the guy who asked the question.

If I gain 3 kg muscle in 3 months, doesn’t that mean I will gain 12 kg +/- 2 kg muscle in 12 months? According to studies and trainers this is the case.
But If what I think is true, that I probably gained only 1 kg muscle in 6 months… considering I ate surplus, slept good…

Looks like we have 2 options:

1). You did everything perfectly and your body works differently than the majority of humans, minus those who have some type of serious health issue.

2). You didn’t actually do everything perfectly and didn’t make as much progress as you would’ve liked, similar to the majority of trainees.

What seems more likely? Seriously, don’t even defend yourself or come up with another question. If I was asking this question and it was about some random person, what would you say was more likely they did? #1 or #2?

2). is more likely.
But does the typical answer to them like the ones I got here help them because they did what people recommended or because they did something totally different thing? And does the help even help those people? How many come back and say "thansk guys it works, after 10 years)

@isdatnutty sure did

seems like not many come back for more help or other things. what if most of them stop training bcs. still no progress?
for example nobody mentioned non/low-responders.
not even the so called “strong people”.
seems like they ain’t that strong in knowledge. big mouth, nothing behind it. pissed off as always. rant and vent. over and out.

Because the answers work.

Same way I don’t come back to a doctor after I have been cured.

bu they would ask for other things, one might think.

Oh man, you are replying to me again.

You are not going to gain muscle muscle muscle with bodyweight work. This has nothing to do with being a non-responder.

If you have all the answers, there are no other questions to ask. No one would come back.

If you decide you are willing to include weight training, you will have a better chance of reaching your goals.

good night, and dont be so mad to me :stuck_out_tongue:

I have no reason to be angry with you. Your success or failure has no impact on me.
