Calisthenics for 6 Months, Progress Slower Than What is Normal

You’ve said two or three times what T Nation “stands for” or what it “used to be about”. As someone who speaks with some semblance of voice for T Nation, I’m saying: you’re completely wrong.

Intelligent and relentless.

Trying to fit a square peg in a round hole is not intelligent. Telling a 6 and a half-foot tall person they have no reason to avoid pistol squats is not intelligent. Doing exercises simply because they’re difficult isn’t intelligent.

While you’ve certainly been relentless in defending your position, it’s misguided. The relentless pursuit of muscle involves efficiency and effectiveness, not simply attacking hard stuff for the sake of doing hard stuff. Guys with shoulder reconstruction shouldn’t be chasing a 405 bench or double-bodyweight dips even though they’re hard things to do. See Point 1 RE: intelligent.

Back in the day, the solution to your pulled back muscle wasn’t to simply ignore the problem and continue deadlifting as if nothing was wrong: https://t-nation.com/t/pulled-a-muscle-two-years-ago/146817

And at one point, you understood that mobility can actually vary from person to person due to a number of factors. Some of which include, and I’m quoting you here, “And how tall are you? How long are your forearms?”: Muscle Bound Test

This hardcore advocacy of pistols is a really weird hill to make a stand on. The fact that you have 7 or 8 people on the opposing side and no one supporting your side should be an indicator to man up (like the T in T Nation would suggest) and admit you made a mistake in singling out JMaier.
