Can cable rows be done sat on the floor or does it require the cable system with a flat bench?
Looked for 4 minutes on google and all the examples are done sat down with feet under foot pegs.

This was literally the first answer to come up when I searched “floor cable row” into Youtube.
Is that what you’re talking about?

You need something to rest your feet against.
How about this? You go to a gym with a cable row machine, and figure out where to put your feet to keep yourself from sliding across the ground. Then, do that.
I think you’ll figure out pretty easily by just trying it.

Um, I’m pretty sure it’s a law of Newtonian physics or some such nonsense, that if you do a cable row without bracing your feet somehow, either the weight won’t move or you’re going to get pulled forward.
Like Rez said, I think your best bet is to play around and figure out someway to prop your feet against something solid. I can’t even really imagine a low cable setup that didn’t have somewhere to put your feet.
Worst case scenario, do standing low cable rows with 1 or 2 arms.
Depending on weight used, you can lean back and tense your body rigid and pull. Not exactly great form but with practice and a decently strong core, you can take advantage of center of gravity from your ass, speaking of newtonian physics. I’ve had to get creative in hotel gyms. Just don’t go turning it in to some weird inverted and weighted plank and know that your limiting factor most likely won’t be the muscles you are trying to train.
Is a narrow or wide grip better?
I used the attachment where your hands are parralel and close, might change and use a wide attachment and go underhand for lat activation.
Nothing is better or worse.
Switch it up every now and then.
I prefer underhand, one handed or close neutral grip for lats.
For upper back I prefer rope to neck area.
I feel that I never get a good contraction when I go wide grip, whether neutral, overhand or underhand. Maybe I need to work on it haha.
I am mirin your insight <3
